Guidelines for Parents:
1. Please read and understand the comprehensive guidelines/ instructions
given in the Concept Paper for the Online Support Program.

2. The weekly work assigned will be split over the week days according to
the timetable set by parents.

3. Parents will monitor and supervise their ward’s work.

4. Any videos/ research work suggested in the assignments will be strictly


monitored by parents.

5. Written work to be done on loose sheets with clear mention of Student’s


name, class/section, subject/topic and date.

Reading The Elves & the Shoemaker: Title pg & Picture words on pg
The Elves & the 4, 5.
Shoemaker  Tell your child some of the reading rules in general:
 Model reading by the parents first, Child reads, use phonics
sound or syllables for correct pronunciation, use bookmarks,
avoid writing anything on the book.
 Write the rules on a paper and keep it in child’s room.
 Look at the title pg & Picture words on pg 4, 5.
 Let the child describe what he/she can see. Who are the
characters? Learn the ten picture words. Take dictation
during the week (five words per day or twice a week).
 Show them the video of the story on the given in your
presence. Pause the video in between the scenes to ask Qs.

 Encourage them to read a page of any other story book every
day before going to bed.

Look in a book  Make sentences of: bookcase, book cover, cupboard, pages,
Vocabulary & classroom.
 Tell the meaning of these words first, then ask your child to
make 2/3 sentences orally for each word
 Ask your child to write any one sentence for each word.

Guidelines Lesson 1: Counting in Hundreds, Tens and Ones Pg 1-5


for Parents 1. Show the following videos to your child to help understand the
concept of counting in hundreds to 1000:

2. Go over Textbook pgs 1-4 with your child and explain how to
count in hundreds, tens & ones. Talk about the 100 cube block.
Again count in hundreds.
3. Count on in 10s starting from 100 e.g. 100,110,120,130…, 190.
Do the same from 200 counting on in 20s e.g. 200, 220, 240,
…,300.
4. Practice reading/writing numbers up to 999 in words
5. Go over Textbook pg 5 Practice; orally.
6. Written Work: Do not ask the child to write on the workbooks. All
work is to be done on loose sheets (large squares) Children
must not draw the pictures they should only write the answer

Discuss with your parents:
 What do you think data is?
 Where is data stored?
 Apart from computers, where can we save data?
 How can we transfer data?
Discuss the difficulties we will face in the absence of these
devices. While discussing the CD/DVD, understand that the only
difference is capacity. DVDs store much more data than CDs.
For example, on a CD you can store about twenty songs, but
you can store hundreds on a DVD. On a DVD you can also store
movies and large programs, but not on a CD.
