Guidelines for Parents:
1. Please read and understand the comprehensive guidelines/ instructions
given in the Concept Paper for the Online Support Program

2. The weekly work assigned will be split over the week days according to
the timetable set by parents.

3. Parents will monitor and supervise their ward’s work.

4. Any videos/ research work suggested in the assignments will be strictly


monitored by parents.

5. Written work to be done on loose sheets with clear mention of Student’s


name, class/section, subject/topic and date.

Reading  Reading of story pg 8, 9 many times after modeled reading

 Ask your child to tell you what they can see in the picture.
Who are the characters? Where are they? How many
animals can you see? What they might be talking to each
other?
 Ask simple Qs to check child’s comprehension. Child to add
newly learnt words in ‘My Vocabulary Bank’
 Do handwriting practice of the same pg

Working together  Read & explain instructions for 3 games: 1.Two can tie a

 Guide & help your child playing this with you. Let them try &
practice until they are successful.
 Teach moral, Try again & reinforce the concept of working
together.
Unit 1 (Learner’s Book pgs 11)
Working together  Revise all the rhymes with your child that he/she has learnt
Rhymes in previous classes.
 Read the rope rhyme aloud for your child to listen & repeat.
See how many lines he can learn in a day.
Reading Check  Practice reading of the story Heidi from pg 4-9.
 Check your child’s reading, correct the pronunciation, short
pauses after the full stop.
 Ask a few spellings for the new words every times he read
something.
 Take dictation when the child learns the spellings.

Guidelines for Lesson 1: Addition (Textbook pgs 20-31, Workbook pgs 19-23)
Parents 1. Show the following videos to your child:

2. Discuss & explain Textbook pgs 20-23 and help your child to
add a number to a 4 digit number without regrouping & with
regrouping. Do point out that we add the ones, then the tens,
then the hundreds and finally the thousands.
3. Explain how to regroup (carry) to the next place value.
Lesson 2: Subtraction (without regrouping)
(Textbook pgs 32-35, Workbook pgs 40, 42-43)
1. Discuss & explain pgs 32-35 and help your child to subtract a
number from a 4 digit number without regrouping. You may
use beans/counters/cubes to help explain the concept.
2. Written Work: Do not ask the child to write on the workbooks.
All work is to be done on loose square sheets (children must
not draw the pictures they should only write sum and the
answer). Go over and let your child do:
