Materials Referred:
1.PMBOK
2.Read & Pass Notes by Maneeh Vijaya. (I didn't refer Rita)
Study Methodology:
Started with PMBOK, read complete knowledge area once. I didn't understand anything but just kept
reading to understand the depth.
Once I completed again Ii started to read PMBOK along with Read & Pass .This time I understand PMBOK
especially the flow of process and started to write my own notes.
After completing each chapter in PMBOK I used to give mock for the corresponding chapters in RITA,
Joseph, Head First and Kim Heldman ‐ I was getting 60 to 70% score.
Luckily I came across "ricardo vargas" Process Flow Chart, I found it very useful. I started to make my own
chart on all process with important key words notes on it.
But I was not good in ITTO used each process then I start to make in excel a chart with all ITTO for each
knowledge area(Sample attached at the end). This chart changed the whole thing; I started to understand
each ITTO without memorizing it. I could reproduce the whole PMBOK in 15 sheet.
Process flow chart and ITTO Chart was a game changer for me, I started to understand why each inputs and
tools used in each process without memorizing it.
Again I gave mock exam at end of Rita, Joesph, Head First ,Green book. This time I scored 80 to 85%.
Mock Test:
I purchased PMPrepcast mock exam stimulator ‐ there was 8 Full mock test. I gave 2 mocks test in which I
scored 75 to 80. So i was confident to go for real exam, I booked my exam with 30days time for completing
remaining mocks.
I treat each mock as real exam, would spend 4 hours without any pause. During mock I will mark questions
which I was not 100% sure. after completing each mock I would spend 3 days( 3 hrs/day) to analyze the
result.
Not only I analyzed wrong questions but also for questions which I was not 100% sure. i used to complete
mock in 3.5hrs.
Real Exam:
When compared to mock test real exam was much easier, there were lot of tricky questions one among
them was : If a new stakeholder joins which has to be changed : 1)change log 2)stakeholder list 3)risk
report 4)Project management plan .
You should read the answer completely and choose the best one. even if your find answer in 1st or 2nd
options I would advise you to read all four options at least once before clicking your answer. in hurry most
will answer option 2 and would click "Next" button, but once you read all option you would easily
understand the answer is option 4.
Try to Strikeout the options which you feel are wrong it will save you lot of time during reviewing.
I completed the exam in 3 hours and spend last one hour for the questions which I have marked for review.
I got 4 maths questions ‐1)CPI 2) EAC 3) Network diagram 4) contract type to find fee.
One question from risk category (pmbok pg:406), Stakeholder Influence ‐ 2Questions,Type of contract 1
Question and lot of change management questions. Didn’t get any questions on Tools & Technique.
Tips:
Don’t refer to much material stick to PMBOK.
Prepare your own Process flow chart and ITTO Sheet (please don’t Google or refer to other aspirants)
Give as much mock exam as possible and treat it as real exam ‐ try to complete it within 3 to 3.5 hrs so in
real exam you will get lot of time for review.
Spend time in analyze your exam result even if you get 80% mark.
Sorry for making it long.
Wishing you all the best
Thanks you.
