LISTENING EXAM CONTEXT

ORAL QUIZ INSTRUCTIONS:

1. During class today, I will be calling you in either Skype, hangout, Facebook
or WhatsApp to ask you questions about the content in the Reading or the
Listening Exam or both
2. Be ready to answer the call and answer the questions.
3. Also, you will be asked some personal questions about you. Like the
questions asked during the first week of classes.
4. The Quiz will take approximately 5 minutes
5. The Quiz will be done during class today and on Friday
6. You will be working in the Written Exam 1 plan instructions, while I do the
Oral Quiz with your classmates in class.

FIRST WRITTEN EXAM INSTRUCTIONS

1. EXAM TOPIC: CREATE A PRODUCT FOLLOWING THE ENGINEERING

PROCESS
2. EXAM FORMAT: WRITE A PROPOSAL IN FOR THIS PRODUCT ON
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 14.
3. WRITE A PLAN: PLAN YOUR PROPOSAL BEFORE THE EXAM AND
SEND IT TO ME BEFORE WEDNEDAY, SEPTEMBER 12.

INTRUCTIONS FOR THE EXAM DAY:

1. CONNECT IN THE MOODLE PLATFORM ON

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 14
2. OPEN UNIT 2: WRITTEN EXAM 1 – PRODUCT
PROPOSAL
3. Use your PRODUCT PLAN to write your WRITTEN
EXAM
4. You will have the 2 hours of class to write your
PROPOSAL
 5. When you finish writing the exam, you will let me
know and I will save the exam.
6. Make sure you have a camera, because I Will TRY
call you during the time you are taking the exam.
7. During the exam, you will be asked to use the
information you sent in your proposal PLAN (On
Wednesday, Sept 12 or before)
8. On Friday, September 14 you will be asked to write
a final proposal about the product you created to
solve an existing problem.
9. Your ideas for the proposal AND the final written
proposal ARE ALL PART OF THE EXAM.

HOW TO PREPARE THE PROJECT PROPOSAL?

TASK 1: Read the situation below and start planning

SITUATION:

You work in the R& D department of a large manufacturing company that

makes a wide variety of HIGH-tech products. Your company received a lot
for money from FDCI to complete your project. So, do not worry about
money, you have all the money to make your product.
It is your job to present proposals for new R&D projects.

Task 2: The high-tech product must be good to solve an existing social

problem, or the high-tech product must be good to be use in your house.

4. Choose the CUSTOMERS that will be using your final product.
a. Explain who will be the users of your product
5. PRODUCT PROPOSAL:
You need to present the product proposal completing the following
information:
a. What is your product?
b. How are you going to test this product before putting it in the market?
c. What will be an estimated price for your product.
d. How will your company, your customers and society benefit from using
your product.
6. YOUR TEAM
a. What professionals are necessary for developing your product?
b. Who will be the people working in your team.
c. Explain why working in interdisciplinary teams in important for the
creation of your product.
d. How are you going to generate ideas to create this product?
