TRUE/FALSE

Instructions: Read the text. Are the questions true or false? Write true or false.

As part of a student project we recently spent a Saturday morning in a local supermarket to ask people
about their household items and shopping habits. This is what we found.

Nearly everyone said that they have less money to spend now than they had this time two years ago.
About two thirds of shoppers also said that it now costs more to do their weekly shop than before.
About 40 per cent said they prefer to buy glass bottles and jars because it is better for the environment,
but less than half of those people said they actually recycle the glass things they buy. People who
usually buy plastic bottles and cartons said they do so because glass is very heavy and it's easier to
carry plastic. Only a very few people, about five per cent, said they never recycle anything, and luckily
not one person said they don't care about the environment.
