The action takes place in an abandoned palace in Japan.

The urban legend

follows one of the attendants, who has been brutally killed during an enemy
attack hundreds of years ago. The legend says that the spirit of the attendant is
still trapped between the walls of the building, attacking anyone who dares to
disturb the peace by taking the appearance of others and tricking them. Three
people (Gabriel, Joel and Nellie) meet outside the abandoned palace, strangers to
one another and decide to explore the palace together. Later on, as they keep
walking around they meet with Mackenzie who is supposedly exploring on her
own. The rest are being quite suspicious of her, since she was inside by herself.
She tells them that she found an audio log when she got there and started
listening to it. The audio log belonged to someone who’s been there before them
and gives them more information about the legend and the ghost. The person in
the audio log will talk about their journey through the palace, what they had
discovered so far and will also guide them through the building. The previous
person left marks on the wall, so that they’ll be able to find the exit.
The ghost will be able to manipulate the person with the weakest personality,
but it won’t be obvious to the other characters that he’s under the influence of
something. Since Mackenzie is good at observing people she’ll notice that
something is off with Nellie and will start paying more to her and her behaviours.
At some point while listening to the audio, the person talking will mention that
the spirit is able to imitate the appearance of people who died in the palace. So,
from that point on they’ll become suspicious on Mackenzie, since she was alone
in the palace in the first place. Nellie will make Joel believe that Mackenzie is the
ghost and that they should leave her behind. Since Gabriel is a science-based
type of person, he doesn’t believe in ghost and seeing how Nellie is suddenly
behaving, he sticks with Mackenzie’s side.
At some point when Mackenzie and Gabriel walk separately from the other two,
they find a name tag covered in blood with Nellie’s name on it, and their
suspicions towards her grow stronger. While Joel and Nellie are left on their own,
Nellie will try to kill Joel by manipulating his mind and making him commit
suicide. (Nellie is able to create illusions or making people hallucinate) Joel will
be hallucinating, as he’ll walk closer to the closest window, falling through it. He
will catch the edge of the window and saving his life. He starts screaming for
help, Mackenzie and Gabriel run towards him and full him back inside. Joel will
try to explain how it happened, but nothing makes sense. Gabriel confronts
Nellie, asking her why she didn’t do anything when Joel was close to dying, but
she’ll smile creepily saying ‘He should have died.’ And there is no explanation
given to her answer.
Mackenzie will grab Joel and run since he’s in shock and isn’t able to handle
what’s happening in time. Gabriel is following immediately by their side and
sinister whispers surrounds them. They’ll look for good places to hide, hoping to
