We have received the drawings for your corporate office prepared by Ar

Datta Ekbote.
We want to clarify following mentioned points from you nad Mr. Ekbote
1. As per section there are 11 slabs+ machine room/water tank. Should
we design the structure for 12 slabs? Please give us drawings which
are going to be actually executed.
2. Is there any slab to be designed for parking loading?
3. The staircase is half circular in plan without any column in circular
portion. Then we will have take columns on grid D-2b, E-2b, D-2d, E-
2d and there will be continuous one piece beam on these columns
circular in plan supporting staircase.
4. As we are taking columns on grid F-2b, F-2d; we should take columns
on grid F-1, F-2, F-3 and F-4 so that the toilets on cantilever beams
are avoided. These columns will also support the overhead water tank
shown in roof plan.
5. We will need structural beam between columns C-2 and C-3 at all
floors above temple. With this beam we may not take the columns as
L columns.
6. We will be providing RCC walls for lift, which is going to provide
sheer wall effect to total structure sustaining all horizontal forces due
to wind and earthquake. But presently the lift walls are totally
separated from main structural frame. If two columns on junction of
lift horizontal wall and office wall are taken, this problem will be
solved. This will also help in reducing size of columns on grid E-2, E-
3. These columns will not foul on any floor except on ground floor.
7. There will be beams on grid C and E which is not shown in section
BB
8. The cupboards will be designed as cantilever slab from beam with
wall load as point load.
9. As per building permission the side margin for high rise buildings
should be 1/3 of the height building.
10.What should be the capacity of overhead water tank? With new
pressure pumps, overhead tanks are avoided. (Already used in hotel
Tripursundari and working very well.)
11.As the span of beam supporting gutter is 6800, the depth will be
similar to other beams, which is not considered in section CC
12.Section through chajjas on corner windows is required. Whether
chajjas through beam bottom is required.
13.Why one extra floor of cabin below machine room is provided?
14.Beam cross section is visible in elevation A. We can avoid the same
by stopping the beam inside wall and only slab strip supporting the
exposed brick wall will be visible.
Please clarify these points so that we will proceed with STAAD analysis
and detail design.
Regards.
