EVIDENCIA 4: RESUMEN
When you're choosing how best to transport your products, budget should
be the most important factor in your decision-making.
The speed of the transport is also important - if you have perishable items,
sending them on a three-month sea voyage through Africa is a bad idea.
Likewise, make sure the mode of transport you choose is reliable so your
customers are not disappointed.
If you are transporting hazardous or dangerous products, there are various
guidelines you need to meet. If you think they may be classified as dangerous,
contact the Department for Transport's Dangerous Goods Branch.
If your products are expensive or you are shipping your product by sea,
you may want to consider some for insurance. This will come in the form of
goods- in-transit or marine insurance, and is paid for either by the buyer or the
seller, depending on what the terms of trade are. If you think insurance is
necessary, make sure you have agreed on the terms with your supplier or
customer to avoid confusion.
If your cargo is valuable, it might be necessary to use a vehicle tracking
system so you know exactly where it is.
While damage during transit is fairly common, it is usually the responsibility
of the supplier to make sure cargos are adequately packaged and labelled to
reduce the risk.
Modes of transport
Choosing the correct mode of transport for your products depends on the size
and urgency of your shipment.
Road
Road transport is cheap, convenient and one of the most flexible modes of
transport, but it's not as eco-friendly as other methods and if you're unlucky, it
can be subject to heavy delays - particularly frustrating if you're working to a
tight schedule.
If you're planning to transport your goods by road, you need to be aware
Rail
Air
Airfreight is, without a doubt, the fastest way to transport your products
across long distances - but it's expensive and not very eco-friendly.
Airfreight is carried by cargo-only airlines as well as scheduled passenger
aircraft.
As with excess baggage on passenger airlines, airfreight is usually
charged by the kilogram. Be aware you will also have to incur costs including
handling fees, fuel and risk surcharges, customs fees and security fees, as well
as duty and VAT if you are importing.
Freight forwarders organize airfreight shipments for you, so you don't have
to worry about all the details and extra costs - the forwarder will quote you
based on the cost of the shipment, as well as handling fees, fuel etc.
If you're thinking of using a freight forwarder, make sure the company you
approach has experience shipping to the country you're planning to send your
goods to, is a member of a freight service industry body, and is covered by
limited liability insurance.

Courier
Couriers are fast, reliable and very secure, but can be costly.
Because of the nature of couriers' vehicles, they generally only deliver
goods up to a certain weight.
Couriers are usually only cost-effective over short distances.

2. A summary must contain the main thesis or standpoint of the text, restated
in your own words. (To do this, first find the thesis statement in the original text.)
4. A summary is always shorter than the original text, often about 1/3 as long
as the original. It is the ultimate fat-free writing. An article or paper may be
summarized in a few sentences or a couple of paragraphs. A book may be
summarized in an article or a short paper. A very large book may be
summarized in a smaller book.
5. A summary should contain all the major points of the original text, and
should ignore most of the fine details, examples, illustrations or explanations.
6. The backbone of any summary is formed by crucial details (key names,
dates, events, words and numbers). A summary must never rely on vague
generalities.
7. If you quote anything from the original text, even an unusual word or a
catchy phrase, you need to put whatever you quote in quotation marks ("").
8. A summary must contain only the ideas of the original text. Do not insert
any of your own opinions, interpretations, deductions or comments into a
summary.
9. A summary, like any other writing, has to have a specific audience and
purpose, and you must carefully write it to serve that audience and fulfill that
specific purpose.
An effective summary:
Begins with an introductory sentence that states the article's title and author
and restates its thesis or
Includes all of the article's main points and major supporting details
Uses quotation marks when using phrasing directly from the article or source.
No inserte
presente.
