Suicide is a kind of silent epidemic and it is ending your own life in such ways.

It ruins
lives and devastates families and communities. It is sometimes a way for people to escape pain
or suffering. According to World Health Organization data, every 40 seconds, another people
commit suicide. When a suicide happens, the community always want to know, why do teens
commit suicide? Some people consider their teenage years the happiest years of their lives but
we never knew what a every single adolescence in this world are going through. Young people
between the ages of 15 and 19, who is enduring neurological illness and any types of addiction
will easily commit suicide as their need is not being fulfilled.

Most teens who have been helped by the psychiatrist and psychologist and were being
interviewed after a suicide attempt, they said that what caused teen suicide are because of
feeling hopeless. So, the first reason to point out is feeling hopeless and helpless. Suicidal
teens thought that there are no solutions for their problem. The teens can see no way out for
their problem but death. They could not help but think that killing themselves will settle down all
these distresses. The teens feel like they have no control to change their situations and fate but
actually every single problem in this world, no matter if it is small or massive one, there must be
a way out for that problem, there must be a cure for a pain and there must be a solution for
every hardship. They just need to seek help from the right person or organization

The second reason teenagers commit suicide is bullying. Not all of us are blessed with
wealth, good figure, and intelligence. Those who are less fortunate that do not have all this kind
of things will face some hard time dealing with bullies. Most bullies will blackmail or scare their
victim in many ways such as use embarrassing facts about the victim to do their job. Some of
the bullies use internet, because nowadays cyber bullying is a prominent threat and as a
teenager myself I can tell you, words do hurt, even from someone you don't know. The internet
allows people to leave anonymous messages that leave lasting imprints in our minds. The views
of other people looking at us causes self-image issues, which can then lead to self-harm, and
worse suicide.

The third leading cause of suicide is abuse. Abuse comes in multiple forms, but the most
common being sexual and physical abuse. Some teens experience sexual abuse in ways that
many people don't even know. Maybe they have been raped until they are pregnant and
ashamed or worse they have become a sex slave for a life time. In high school, people, girls
especially, get harassed for what society did such as cat calling or a boy hitting a girl on the
butt. It may seem small to some human being, but when it leads to a girl or boy being assaulted
or raped, everything is brought to the surface. Sexual abuse is not the only type of abuse,
physical abuse is as much, if not more common than sexual. Physical abuse can happen to
anyone, anywhere, anytime. In many households across the states, teens are being involved to
physical abuse. Teens, and kids are not deserve to be hit or kicked by an adult, in any situation
ever. Just because a teenager does something wrong, it doesn't call for an adult, their parents
to hit them. All that a teenager deserves is love, patience and chances to fix themselves. It is
okay to extend some teenagers with a little hit with a cane on insensitive parts of their body
such as on their sole. But when it gets to the extent that children have to cover up their bodies
to hide the bruises is when it becomes too much. Physical abuse of course will bring harm to
teenagers’ health. At some point that they cannot stand it anymore and when there is nowhere
to turn or maybe they were felt insecure that even if they get help, the same thing will repeat
over and over. So, that suicidal thought will automatically sparks in their mind. And last but not
least, mental abuse, such as some parents just pushed their children to study very hard until
there is a body contact or they have used some bad words, unaware that what they are doing is
actually abusive towards their children. Meanwhile, abused teenagers is too timid to spilled out
what they feel all this time even if that thing hurts. So, the only way they can save themselves
from being hurt is by killing their own selves. Teenagers shouldn't have to worry about school,
socializing, and then be afraid to go home at night. This leads to one of the highest rates of teen
runaways as well as suicide.

The fourth cause of depression is terminal illnesses. Many people don't agree that
people who have cancer or another terminal disease should give up hope that they can live.
Some people don't want to fight, they give up and are prepared to die. It maybe because they
cannot see clearly the purpose and vision of why they need to be alive. Teenagers don't
understand that there is so much to life that they would miss, so they refuse to fight and die as a
result. Some are just scared that since, hey here's life altering news that you could die in two
years, that they won't even have a chance and commit suicide to make everyone's life around
them easier.

To most people suicide and depression are senile things, it's not a major world issue so
they don't need to worry about it. But trust me, to those three kids in your daughter's literature
class, depression is a real thing, and waiting to try to help until after they are gone is useless.
Let's raise that awareness, these kids deserve a chance to live a long, healthy life.
Suicide is a kind of silent epidemic and it is ending your own life in such ways. It ruins
lives and devastates families and communities. It is sometimes a way for people to escape pain
or suffering. According to World Health Organization data, every 40 seconds, another people
commit suicide. When a suicide happens, the community always want to know, why do teens
commit suicide more than the older people? And also based on the newspaper report entitled
Suicide on the Rise Among Malaysian Youth on 2 July 2018 from The New Straits Times,
suicide is the second most leading cause of death among teenagers between the ages of 15
and 29 in Malaysia.

The table above shows, the data increases and the introspection of the suicidal cases.
Some people consider their teenage years the happiest years of their lives but we never knew
what a every single adolescence in this world are going through. Young people between the
ages of 15 and 19, who is enduring neurological illness and any types of addiction will easily
commit suicide as their need is not being fulfilled. Apart from that, the percentage of female who
commits suicide higher than male because female often act according to their feelings and
doesn’t think carefully before take an action.

The teens can see no way out for

actually every single problem in this world, no matter if it is small or massive one, there must be
a way out for that problem, there must be a cure for a pain and there must be a solution for
every hardship. They just need to seek help from the right person or organization. In proportion
of this problem, American teen drama web television series developed for Netflix by Brian
Yorkey, based on the 2007 novel Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher which viral all around the
world even in Malaysia. The series portray a seventeen years old high school student, Hannah
Baker who has committed suicide after failing to cope with the culture, gossip and lack of
support from her friends and her school. In my opinion, it is a worth watching this series as it
shows how a pure girl can commits suicide for us to realize that every single things is matter to
one’s soul so that we can prevent it from happens. There are always hope in every problems.
This shows have created a 13ReasonsWhy.Info site for whoever that needs a help from the
experts. It is a worldwide solutions and also in Malaysia, we have Befrienders Kuala Lumpur
who ready to lend an ears, hand and motivation.

The second reason teenagers commit suicide is bullying. Bullying takes on many forms
such as physical, verbal, cyberbullying and social isolation. Not all of us are blessed with wealth,
good figure, and intelligence. Those who are less fortunate that do not have all this kind of
things will face some hard time dealing with bullies. Most bullies will blackmail or scare their
victim in many ways such as use embarrassing facts about the victim to do their job. Some of
the bullies use internet, because nowadays cyber bullying is a prominent threat and as a

allows people to leave anonymous messages that leave lasting imprints in our minds. The views
of other people looking at us causes self-image issues, which can then lead to self-harm, and
worse suicide. We must realize that bullying really exist between two people alone. The person
bullying isn’t the only influence, whether in school hallways, parties or online. Those surrounding
of bullying play apart too. Those who assist they may not start it but they may encourage it by
laughing and sometimes join in. It gives power to the person that bullying and encourages them
to continue. As an impact, the victim will feel more pressure and lost self-esteem which lead to
depression and even worst is suicide.

The third leading cause of suicide is abuse. Abuse comes in multiple forms, but the most
common being sexual and physical abuse. Some teens experience sexual abuse in ways that
many people don't even know. Maybe they have been raped until they are pregnant and

Last but not least in abusive problem is mental abuse, such as some parents just
pushed their children to study very hard until there is a body contact or they have used some
bad words, unaware that what they are doing is actually abusive towards their children.
Meanwhile, abused teenagers is too timid to spilled out what they feel all this time even if that

selves. Teenagers shouldn't have to worry about school, socializing, and then be afraid to go
home at night. This leads to one of the highest rates of teen runaways as well as suicide. In
China, there is a leak video of a schoolboy name as Xiao Zhen who apparently jumped to his
death from a classroom window. Whatever was going through his mind must have been too
much to bear, he just straight jump to the window without any warning. These evidence shows
that the China’s pressure-cooker society in education can ruin young person’s entire future if
they are unable to face it. The community especially parents should know that a persons have
different capability that may have speaciality in something else.

The fourth cause of depression is terminal illnesses. Many people don't agree that
people who have cancer or another terminal disease should give a hope that they can live.
Some people don't want to fight, they give up and are prepared to die. It maybe because they

result. Some are just scared that since, hey here's life altering news that you could die in two
years, so that they even have a chance and commit suicide to make everyone's life around
them easier.

Moreover, the reasons why teenagers commit suicide is having a problematic

family sush as their parents are divorce, unstable financial and parents who addicted to drugs
and alcohol. These cause are leading to the emotional neglect to the children. They need to
stabilizing their lives between the school life and the pressure at home at a very young age. No
soul can hold it for a very long time. These childs are having a nightmare on their daily lives.
They see their parents shouting and fighting every single time. As an result, the children
becomes poor in education, a problematic students and cannot be denied to commit suicide as
there are no supporting for them emotionally and physically to commit suicide. These seems
more easy to them as nobody cares for them after all.

To most people suicide and depression are senile things, it's not a major world issue so
they don't need to worry about it. But trust me, to those three kids in your daughter's literature
class, depression is a real thing, and waiting to try to help until after they are gone is useless.
This is an epidemic that is not just a responsibility of our government but it’s a greater
responsibility to the friends, parents and schools. Those who claim themselves as outsiders who
don’t encourage the factors of suicide but they also don’t defend those who are in struggled with
their suicidal thoughts also need to be a heroes for these people who crying for help. Let's raise
that awareness, these kids deserve a chance to live a long, healthy life. The key is don’t keep it
to yourself, tell an adult that you trust like a teacher, school counselor and parents and the
others needs to offer comfort. We all play a role.
