Now, I will describe about malnutrition
Do you know about malnutrition?
Malnutrition affects people in every country. Malnutrition is a physical state of
unbalanced nutrition. It can mean undernutrition or overnutrition. When most people think
of malnutrition, they usually picture undernutrition, which can be caused by a lack of
calories, protein or other nutrients. This occurs frequently in areas of the world without
adequate access to food and clean drinking water.
Overnutrition comes from eating too many calories. Someone can eat more
calories than their body needs.
WHAT IS CAUSE OF MALNUTRITION ?
Malnutrition can occur for various reasons, such as :
1. A low intake of food
Some people develop malnutrition because there is not enough food available or because
they have difficulty eating or absorbing nutrients.
2. Mental health conditions
Undernutrition or malnutrition can affect people with:
Depression, dementia, schizophrenia, anorexia nervosa, Social and mobility problems
3. Alcohol use disorder
Consuming a lot of alcohol can lead to gastritis or long-term damage to the pancreas.
Alcohol also contains calories, so a person may not feel hungry after drinking it.

Today the world faces a double burden of malnutrition that includes both undernutrition
and overweight, especially in low- and middle-income countries.
The impact of the malnutrition is
1. Weak and obstructed cognitive psychomotor
2. Difficulty achievement of science
3. More vulnerable to degenerative diseases , as diabetes mellitus
4. Human resources of inferior quality
So, To prevent malnutrition, people need to consume a range of nutrients from
a variety of food types. Nutrition is a critical part of health and development. Better
nutrition is related to improved infant,, stronger immune systems, safer pregnancy and
childbirth, and the other.
Now I will invite you to always eat healthy food to prevent malnutrition, with create a
healthy plate that we consume. In a healthy plate, there are
1. Carbohydrate, For example, millet grains, oats, bread, and rice. It is important to limit
the amount of processed white flour products that you eat.
2. Vegetables, for example : carrot, brocolli, mushrooms,lettuce, and the other
3. Protein. Good protein is from fish, beans, nuts, seeds, soured milk products, eggs, and
meat.
4. Fruit, for example : banana, mango, orange, and the other.
5. Drink. The best drinks for you are pure water and unsweetened tea.
6. Oils and fats. There are the most valuable in healthy super foods, such as nuts,
avocado, and fish. Good quality butter and cold pressed vegetable oils are also
suitable.
7. Lifestly. you should also get some exercise outdoors, sleep well, spend time with
friends.
