M-Global

Who We Are:
M-Global is an international organization that started out as a small family business called
McDuff Inc. Founded in 1963 by Rob McDuff, McDuff Inc. was a company that specialized in soil
analysis. As the company steadily grew, McDuff Inc. took on many different projects, including work
with oil firms, environmental work for waste-management, and service industries work. After his
retirement in 2008, Rob McDuff turned over the company to his son Jim McDuff, who changed the name
to M-Global. M-Global continued to expand to not only engineering and environmental services, but also
development and business services. After 50 years of business, M-Global has 2,500 employees, nine
locations in the United States, six locations overseas, and continues to do a variety of work.
What We Do:
Soils work on land and at sea – Makes design recommendations for many structures, including office
buildings, dams, factories, and more. These also include helping clients decide whether an area should be
preserved or developed.
Construction monitoring and management – Monitors construction project’s quality using building codes
and regulations.
Environmental management – Works on environmental management work, which includes testing soil
and water for wastes, drilling borings to monitor pollution in the surface, designing cleanup plans,
predicting the impact of future projects for the environment, and analyzing the environmental health of
areas like wetlands, beaches, forests, lakes, etc.
Equipment design – Develops equipment for M-Global’s and their client’s use.
Document development – Creates documentation for the equipment designed by the Equipment Design
Lab team and writes proposals and requests for proposals. It also offers documentation services for the
company’s clients.
Training – Trains employees and clients with skills, including report writing.
Miscellaneous service industries – starts and buys out companies are related to civil engineering,
including corporate and residential landscaping, security, and hotel management.
Where to Find Us:
M-Global has a headquarters located in Baltimore, Maryland and 16 branches located internationally.
Each branch has some independence from the other branches and the headquarters. However, there are
still corporate structures that are required, including coordinating projects that involves employees from
many offices, preventing duplicates of work from other offices, and ensuring fairness, consistency, and
quality to all employees throughout the company.
