Dear Mr./Ms/ Dr. ________________________________:

This is an application for job number _____________________, bilingual education teacher. As a recent
graduate from University of Houston, I have my Bachelors in Bilingual Generalist EC-6. My ability to build
positive relationships with students and peers, my teaching experience and recent coursework in curriculum
and instruction strategies, integration and writing across curricula will enable me to be a great asset to the -
________ School District.

During my placement as a student teacher at Mitchell Elementary School in Houston, I learned and applied a
wide range of teaching strategies. I planned for two grade levels being bilingual 3rd and 4th grade ELA. It was
interesting to see how the TEKS are different and build on each other. For example, I constructed my lesson
plans by first consulting the Common Core Standards for clear objectives and learning goals. Every student’s
experience was enriched by differentiating lessons for learning styles. I taught certain groups while my mentor
teacher taught other groups and we took decisions based on their assessment results. Being able to analyze
data to make decisions for what was best for the student in order to grow to their full potential. Students were
encouraged and motivated to take ownership of their own learning in order to accomplish the goal they had.
My students were motivated and celebrated their accomplishments of growth even if they were small because
they were putting their hundred percent effort. Students were hold accountable for their learning, but they
individually knew it was their responsibility, so they took ownership of their learning.

I believe in being a lifelong learner and having an open growth mindset, I would love the opportunity to share
this belief with students of ________________. I hope to soon discuss with you how my experiences and
abilities meet the goal of your district and school. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Daisy Orozco
