The interconnection cables comprise all the cables inside each cabinet
and between the cabinets which form a single exchange. The
Intracabinet cables
The interconnection cables between different subracks located in the
same cabinet run from one subrack to another along the walls and
cabling shelves of the cabinet. These cables are delivered completely
installed in the cabinets.
Intercabinet cables
The interconnection cables running between different cabinets are led
directly from one cabinet to another on cable shelves located behind the
cabinets. These cables must be installed at the site. The interconnection
cables are delivered as prefabricated cable sets.
The site (outgoing) cables are all the cables that leave the exchange.
They include:
Trunk circuit cables from the network interfaces
Power supply cables
Grounding cables
I/O cables
TCP/IP cables to the Network Management system
The site cables are connected directly to the plug-in units, or to the back
interface units located at the rear of the cabinets. These cables must be
installed at the site.
The site cables can be routed to the environment through the opening at
the bottom (raised floor installations) or top plate (normal installation) of
the EC216. These cables must be installed at the site.
All the cables entering the cabinet(s), except for the DC power feed
cables, must have protective wires which are grounded to the frame of
the exchange at the connectors in the cabling cabinets.
The site cables are not delivered in sets and vary in length depending on
the delivery. They must be ordered separately and are designed for
each delivery. They are not included in the standard documentation.

These columns give the name of the functional unit housed in the subrack where the ends of the cable connect to, for example
FU
MXU.
Position These columns give the coordinates of the connectors where the ends of the cable connect to.
This column gives the type (the first three letters) and length (the following two or three numbers) of the cable in decimetres
Type
(10 cm), or if marked with a C, in centimetres. For example, CHA010 is a cable of CHA type which is 100 cm long.
Use This column, when used, gives the type of signal carried by the cable, for example PDH line.
