Introduction to ASCP – EAM Integration
Resource Unavailability Modelling in ASCP
Resource Unavailable when it is scheduled for maintenance when importing eAM
Work Orders
When a resource is scheduled for Asset Maintenance and the “Shutdown Type” =
“Required”, it is no longer available and should be considered down and not available
to the ASCP engine. The Shutdown type can be specified at the eAM work order
header level or at the eAM work order operation level. If it is shut down at the header
level, the resource is considered down for the entire duration of the work order and
the operation level status is not relevant. If the header is Shutdown = “Not Required”,
the operation shutdown status become relevant and can be shut down for specific
operations.
Collections will collect eAM Asset work orders and from these work orders the Asset
shut down time is determined. With this information additional work orders will be
created by ASCP to occupy the appropriate resource for the duration of the Asset’s
downtime due to eAM maintenance. These additional work orders are Dummy Work
orders in ASCP.

Planner Workbench
Dummy Maintenance work order

The work order number should be created by prefixing a character at the start of the base work order to make it unique.
For example work order “WO288434” the letter “D-” should be prefixed to create “D-WO288434” to signify a “Dummy” resource work
order.
The work order end dates should be derived based on the following examples based the profile of the assets downtime. If the downtime
spans several (consecutive) days, and the downtime hours are the same on each day, it will suffice to create one single dummy work order
with appropriate start and end dates. Otherwise, multiple dummy work orders need to be created for the different days.

Planner Workbench
Display of “Dummy” Maintenance Work Orders

The “Dummy” “Maintenance Work Orders” should be planned and displayed just like
other “Maintenance Work Orders”. Since the “Dummy” “Maintenance Work Orders”
will not contain component demands there is not a risk to release them back to source.
“Maintenance Work Orders” are block for release unless a substitute component is
planned.

Introduction to SPP – EAM Integration
Requirements Addressed

This release (12.2.4.1) enables the integration between EAM and SPP. Work Order Demands from
EAM are collected into SPP and then planned for within SPP. Supplies pegged to the demands can
then be released back to EAM.

Note that this integration relies heavily on the existing integration between EAM and ASCP that
was delivered in a prior release.
