Your favorite “How Might We?” question: How might we make FIRST-
AID available in rural areas of the country?

Complete the following steps to generate solutions and determine your

solution/prototype idea for your favorite “How Might We” question:

1. Generate Ideas

This is my very first question among the 3 how might we questions that I have
created.
The question in general means, bringing additional healthcare in rural areas and
making the villagers and small town people aware of the basic first aid services that
are meant to be provided to them. Also the availability of after-hours and same day
appointments in case of emergency.

Henceforth after lot of research and analysis the possible outcomes/solutions

to my how might we question are-

1) SETTING UP OF THE FIRST-AID BOOTHS

2) PROVISION OF FIRST AID SUPPLIES

3) WHY FIRST-AID?

4) BUILDING PRIVATE PRIMARY HEALTH CARE CENTERS IN RURAL AREAS

2. “Play” With Your Solutions

4) SETTING UP OF THE FIRST-AID BOOTHS- This idea generally speaks of setting a

first aid booth in villages, slums and small towns where;
a) People don’t have access to the medical services near them (hospitals,
dispensary, chemist, clinics etc.)
 b) People have to travel miles to visit the nearest emergency center.

5) First aid supplies- providing the hospitals or clinics of these areas with the basic
and yet essential first-aid supplies and teaching them how to use the same on the
patients. The causes, effects and impacts should be taught.

6) Why first-aid- in this the target is to making the people aware about the need to
first-aid. Questions such as;
a) What is first-aid?
b) Why to use first-aid, instead of their home remedies?
c) What kind first aid is needed in different situations?

4) Building private primary health care centers in rural areas- where the primary
focus will be the health care of the villagers along with first-aid, and other treatments.
It will be a systematic 24*7 available health care center like any other hospitals or
nursing home where quality service will be provided to the patients. The difference is
that it will be a private institution and hence will work much better and faster than the
government ones. Having adequate supplies and availability of doctors and staff, this is
meant to run smoothly.

3. Select a Solution

The solution that has appealed to me the most in order to create my prototype is the
very first solution mentioned above i.e. setting up of first-aid booths in rural areas.
This solution appealed to me the most among the all other solutions because-
a) Directly or indirectly it is covering the rest of the solution(the motive and the
functioning part)
b) The most important thing is as this is a venture so a capital amount is needed to
set up a venture. Hence in setting up of booths in these areas not much capital is
required or needed. Hence charges that the patient has to pay will automatically
reduce which is a great sign to make the same service affordable for them so
that they can access it.
c) Likewise several booths in different areas of the country can be set up easily
without wasting money and time.
d) The detailed information of this prototype will be explained in the upcoming
assignment.
