1. Personal introduction and reflection about the learning process:

My name is Dainer William Bonilla Tovar. I’m 48 years old. I live in Granada (Meta).

I’ve been married for 14 years and I have two children. I worked as an NCO in the

Colombian army for 28 years, but I’m retired now and enjoying full time with my

family.

I’ve always liked the English language and I’ve studied it by myself for long. I used to

take advantage of my free time to listen to music, read books and look up words in the

dictionary. Nevertheless, it’s not been possible to get the expected fluency when

speaking and enough skill for writing.

As you can see, the English language learning process has been a little difficult, but

discipline and the interest in learning English have been my strengths along this process.

Writing and speaking in public have always been my weaknesses, but I find a lot of

opportunities interacting with native speakers by chatting and checking several resources

on the internet. Finally, the fact of living in the rural area becomes a threat for the

language acquisition process, due to internet failures and the absence of people

interested in learning and practicing English language.
