NEBOSH National General Certificate

The NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety provides an
excellent foundation in occupational health and safety. It helps its holders manage risk effectively
by covering a broad range of topics, and is ideal for:

The NEBOSH Certificate is widely respected by employers and meets the requirements for 335

Technician Membership of IOSH (Tech IOSH) and Associate Membership of IIRSM (AIIRSM).

Course Content

The NEBOSH National General Certificate is made up of three units:

Unit NGC1: Management of Health and Unit GC2: Control of National Workplace

• Do • Musculoskeletal Hazards and Risk Controls

Risk Control
• Physical and Psychological Health Hazards
and Risk Control
Unit GC3: Health & Safety Practical Application
• Work-based Practical Assesment

Assessment

Units NGC1 and GC2 of the NEBOSH National Certificate are each assessed by a two-hour written
examinations. Unit GC3 is assessed by a practical assessment carried out in your workplace.

Exemptions Courses Available

If you have been awarded the NEBOSH Classroom Online

National Construction or Fire Certificate London, Birmingham, Worldwide
in the last 5 years you will be exempt Glasgow, Leeds, In-Company
from Unit NGC1 and can simply ‘top up’ Manchester, Worldwide
by completing Unit GC2 and the practical Newcastle
assessment (Unit GC3).
