Activities with LOGICO PRIMO and PICCOLO boards

LOGICO are boards with movable colourful buttons and different sets of cards with logical tasks on
them. Kids insert a card in a board and match pictures according to usually just one-sentence
instructions, using the buttons. When they are finished with the task, they turn the card and put it
back in the board and there they can see if they did it right.

The LOGICO didactic system combines concentration, patience and cognitive processes with
simple manipulation; the learning process with playing. One of the best features of the system is the
fact, that kids can do the task individually, using as much time as they need and going at their own
pace. That means the system is great for most kids with learning disorders as well as an activity for
talented or hyperactive kids. The teacher can choose a level of difficulty individually. Also, when
kids check their outcome by themselves it teaches them to be responsible for themselves. It gives a
chance for a correction, while taking away the pressure of being ashamed for making a mistake.

In Ponny we use two versions of LOGICO system – LOGICO PRIMO with 6 buttons, which is
designed for kids from 3 years old and LOGICO PICCOLO with 10 buttons for preschoolers.

Topics on cards are numerous, it´s (for example):

• Maths for logical thinking and imagination, mental arithmetic skills and problem solving
strategies,
• Geometry for map reading skills, left and right orientation and spatial orientation
• Language for essential preparatory skills for learn to read, recognition, differentiation and
memorizing skills, understanding of cause and effect

We use the cards both as an organized event for all the kids (e.g. in preschool preparation) and
individually as an afternoon or leisure time activity and they all love it :)
