Guidelines for Recognition as a Research Supervisor

1. Any regular/endorsed teacher of the University with a Ph.D. Degree and atleast 2 years of Post-
Ph.D. Teaching experience may be recognized as a Research Supervisor as per below criteria;

2. Only a full time regular/endorsed teacher of the University can act as a supervisor. However, in
case of topics which are of inter-disciplinary nature where the respective Doctoral Progress
Committee concerned feels that the expertise in the respective area/discipline/department has to be
supplemented from outside, the concerned authority may appoint a Co-Supervisor from other
Department/ Faculty/College/Institution on such terms and conditions as may be specified and
agreed upon by the consenting Institutions/Colleges.

(#Research publications shall be considered only if published within last 2 years from the date of
application for Recognition of Research Supervisor)
(@refers to allocation on initial recognition. No. of seats shall automatically increase upon completion of
Ph.D. of allocated research scholars. For e.g.: If one research scholar successfully attains Ph.D. Degree
under a Supervisor, the Supervisor is entitled for 2 seats upto a maximum of eligible seats)
