Computer Assisted Drafting Classwork Rubric

Daily classwork grades will be derived from a combination of AutoCAD problems and review
questions at the end of each Unit in the Applying AutoCAD workbook. All review questions
and the assigned problems must both be completed before any credit for the Unit is recorded.
Remember that the objective of these classwork assignments is to develop new AutoCAD skills
through an independent learning process as well as developing a vocabulary of AutoCAD and
engineering terms. Complete accuracy (especially in the drawings) is not a primary concern at
this point, but should be a goal for all assignments. It is understood that students will work at
different rates and may need additional time to complete drawing assignments. Appropriate time
to complete drawing assignments will be at the instructors discretion based on ability level of
each student as well as their work ethic within the classroom. Classwork will be graded daily (or
weekly) as appropriate and recorded in the teachers grade-book.
Scoring will be as follows:

All drawing problems are complete and accurately created.

All review questions are answered thoroughly.
100 Drawing work demonstrates that steps were followed and material understood.
Work was completed in a timely manner.
All drawing problems are complete, however some inaccuracy is observed.
90 No less than one question was answered thoroughly and thoughtfully.
Work was completed in a timely manner.
Majority of drawing problems are complete and accurate. (No less than one).
85 Although all questions were answered, it is not clear that all material was understood.
Work was completed in a timely manner.
Majority of drawing problems are complete and accurate. (No less than two).
80 Some questions were not answered properly or not attempted at all.
Some concepts were not understood.
More than two drawing problems were not accurate or attempted.
70 Two or more questions were not answered.
Work was not completed in a timely manner.
An attempt was made to create some of the drawing problems.
60 An attempt was made to answer some of the questions thoughtfully.
Work was not completed in a timely manner.
Less than half of the drawing problems were attempted.
0 Less than half of the questions had any responses or responses were inaccurate.

Note: No credit for classwork will be awarded with a grade less than 60. If a
score of a 60 is not achieved, a zero will be recorded until student has
completed enough of the work to achieve the criteria for a grade of 60.
