Decoding Data Models
Mr. Bogataj, head of the accounts department in Aucky University, had to present the report to
the financial head on the monthly expenditure based on the department as well as the faculty for
tracking expenses. Mr. Bogataj had asked for the report from his revenue department and was
shared the report as shown in table1(Exhibit 1). He was trying to understand the data where the
department and faculty were put up as index rather than the description of the faculty and
department. He requested his subordinate (Mr. Negi) for the description of these indexes. Mr
Negi confirmed that earlier the MIS has helped him with providing the description and was not
sure if they have been changed since the last time and advised to check with the MIS. Mr. Negi
shared the separate excel file with the table describing Faculty code and Departments
(Table2/Table3)[ (Exhibit 1)].

Mr. Bogataj has sent the mail to MIS to confirm index shared by Mr. Negi. However, he was
also looking for system to help him with combining these table in excel rather then putting the
number manually.

MIS proposed you as a consultant to help Mr. Bogataj for providing reports and support
combining these excel into dashboard as required.
