ASSIGNMENT 2: PROJECT REPORT

IDENTIFYING PRICING AND DISTRIBUTION MIX OF VARIOUS PRODUCTS

Purpose: The purpose is to learn the evaluation of Pricing and Distribution Mix for the given
product.

Methodology:

1. Each student will be given a company from one sector or will select a company.
2. Find the product/service company offers.
3. Find the entire range of products manufactured / services offered.
4. Identify the prices for all variety of sizes of the product in different markets.
5. Specify whether the prices are same while purchasing the product from traditional kirana
shop, retail store and ordering online.
6. Compare the prices with major competing brands.
7. State the pricing method selected by company.
8. Comment on how the company has adopted the price.
9. Mention your observations about following aspects of distribution :-
- Channel Levels: i.e. no of intermediaries used by the company for distributing the product.
- Marketing practices followed by company like – Franchising, Direct Marketing, E-
commerce.
- Identify the warehouse locations of the company.
- Calculate inventory turnover ratio and comment on the same.
- Build a logic and calculate the transportation cost per unit of product.

10. How you will analyze the desired service output level? How you will link the same with
price of a product?

Outcome: A student should be able to formulate pricing and distribution mix after completion
of the course.

Evaluation: 20 marks Report

1. The students will submit a report .The students will be evaluated individually on the
preset parameters.

material and low relevance
Poor 0 to 25% Concept not understood and collecting
irreverent topics
