 Tissue products such as toilet paper, paper towels, and facial tissue are
cheap and convenient—but they cost the planet a great deal.
 A report by the National Geographic Society Newsroom, stated that 27,000
trees a day are being wiped out to suffice the demand of the tissue.
 Our demand for tissue is devastating the boreal, with serious consequences
for Indigenous People, treasured wildlife, and the global climate.
 We already know of options for more sustainable tissue production—
specifically by using recycled materials.
 These recycled papers contain starches that breed bacteria and germs,
wherein it counts to be 100 to 1000 times higher than in virgin paper.
 Water hyacinth is used as an alternative fiber for tissue making.
 Water hyacinth contains 64.51% of cellulose and 7.69% of Lignin that is
essential for the production of tissue.
 Water Hyacinths are known to be invasive species that are found in ponds,
lakes and other bodies of water because they compete for sunlight and
oxygen that is needed by the organisms living in the bodies of water.
