Admission {Session 2019-2020}
* Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) invites application from the eligible
candidates for admission in Bachelor and Masters Program of 2019-2020 session.
* BLIP offers four year Honors/Engineering (BICE) and two year Masters Program.
* Students who have passed HSC or equivalent examination in 2018 and 2019 are allowed to
apply for BA/BSS/BBA/BSc Honours/BSc Engineering (BICE) Programs.
* A candidate can apply for admission in any number of faculties he/she is eligible for.
* Admission test (written) of various faculties will be conducted at different date and time.
* Application processing fees are non-refundable.

Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS)
Four Year Honours Eligibility for Admission
Programs
(1) A candidate must pass SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent
examination from an~ disci~line/grou~.
BSS (Hons) in
Development Studies (2) Candidates from Science Group must obtain a total GPA of 8.50 in
SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination with minimum GPA 4.00 in
each of the examinations.
(3) Candidates from Business Studies Group must obtain a total GPA of
BSS (Hons) in 8.25 in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination with minimum GPA
Disaster and Human 3. 75 in each of the examinations.
Security Management (4) Candidates from Humanities Group must obtain a total GPA of 7.75 in
SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination with minimum GPA 3.75 in
each of the examinations.

BSS (Hons) in (5) Candidates from General Certificate of Education (GCE) 0 and A level
Economics background must pass in minimum 05 (five) and 02 (two) subjects respectively
having minimum 26.5 points in total based on the following scale:

BA (Hons) in English C 3.50
D 3.00
Note: Gradings lower than 'D' will not be considered for point calculation.
(6) Candidates from International Baccalaureate (IB) must pass in
minimum 06 (six) subjects having minimum 30 points based on the rating

Administration scale used in their curriculum (7, 6, 5, 4). Rating of 1, 2 and 3 will not be
considered in point calculation.
(7) Candidates will have to sit for a written test (MCQ) of 100 marks. The
marks distribution is as follows:
(a) General Knowledge - 30.
(b) English - 40.
(c) Bangla - 30
BSS (Hons) in (8) Candidates applying for admission in the Department of Economics
Sociology ..
must have minimum 'A-' (A Minus) grade in Economics
/Accounting/Statistics/Higher Mathematics either in SSC/equivalent or
HSC/equivalent examination. Candidates from 'O' Level or 'A' Level
background must have minimum D grade in any of the above mentioned
subjects.

(9) Candidates applying for admission in the Department of Disaster &
Human Security Management must be qualified from Science Group in
SSC/equivalent examination. Candidates must have studied Higher
Mathematics/Statistics in HSC/equivalent level and obtained minimum 'A-' (A
Minus) grade in the examination.
(10) Candidates applying for admission in the Department of English must
have minimum 'A-' (A Minus) grade in English both in SSC/equivalent
examination and HSC/equivalent examination.
Faculty of Business Studies (FBS)
Four Year Honours
Eligibility for Admission
Programs

(1) A candidate must pass SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent


examination from any discipline/group.
BBA in Accounting &
Information Systems (2) Candidates from Science Group must obtain a total GPA of 8.50 in
SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination with minimum GPA 4.00 in
each of the examinations.
(3) Candidates from Business Studies Group must obtain a total GPA of
8.25 in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination with minimum GPA
BBA in Finance & 3.75 in each of the examinations.
Banking
(4) Candidates from Humanities Group must obtain a total GPA of 8.25 in
SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination with minimum GPA 3.75 in
each of the examinations.
(5) Candidates from General Certificate of Education (GCE) 0 and A level
background must pass in minimum 05 (five) and 02 (two) subjects respectively
BBA-General having minimum 26.5 points in total based on the following scale:

Studies Note: Gradings lower than 'D' will not be considered for point calculation.
(6) Candidates from International Baccalaureate (IB) must pass in
minimum 06 (six) subjects having not less than 30 points based on the rating
scale used in their curriculum (7, 6, 5, 4). Rating of 1, 2 and 3 will not be
considered in point calculation.
(7) Candidates will have to sit for a written test (MCQ) of 100 marks. The
BBA in Marketing mark distribution is as follows:
(a) Mathematics-35
(b) English-35
(c) General Knowledae-30
Two Year Masters
Eligibility for Admission
Prooram
(1) A candidate must pass SSC/equivalent, HSC/equivalent and
BA/BBA/BSS/BSc/equivalent examination from any discipline/group.
(2) The candidate must have 8 points based on the following calculation:

(4) Applicants who appeared in 'O' level examination must obtain pass
marks at least in 05 (five) subjects with minimum 'D' grade in each.
(5) Applicants who appeared in 'A' level examination must obtain pass
marks at least in 02 (two) subjects with minimum 'D' grade in each.
(6) Candidates will have to sit for a written test (MCQ) of 100 marks. The
mark distribution is as follows:
(a) Mathematics - 30
(b) English - 30
(c) General Knowledge - 20
(d) Creative Writing - 20

Programs
BSc in Information (1) A candidate must pass SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent
and Communication examination from science discipline/group.
Engineering (BICE) (2) Candidates from Science Group must obtain a total GPA of 9.25 in
BSc (Hons) in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination with minimum GPA 4.50 in
Environmental each of the examinations.
Science (3) Candidates from General Certificate of Education (GCE) 0 and A level
background must pass in minimum 05 (five) and 02 (two) subjects respectively
having minimum 26.5 points in total based on the following scale:

(4) Candidates from I nternationa I Baccalaureate (18) must pass in

(5) Candidates will have to sit for a written test (MCQ) of 100 marks.
Students opting for ICE must have Mathematics and those who will opt for
Environmental Science must have Biology in HSC as their compulsory/optional
(4th subject) subject. Students opting for both ICE and Environmental Science
must have both Mathematics and Biology in HSC level.

(6) The marks distribution is as follows:


(i) Mathematics - 25/ Biology - 25
(ii) Physics - 25
(iii) Chemistry - 25
(iv) English - 25

•!• Application processing fee is Taka 750.00 (Seven Hundred Fifty) only for each faculty
•!• Application processing fee must be deposited online through your preferred Card/Mobile
Financial Services/Internet Banking. Service charge is applicable. Detailed Payment
procedure is available at "How to Apply" link on the admission

Special Instructions

•!• Admission Test will be taken in MCQ System and 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong
answer.
•:• Syllabus for Admission Test can be found in BUP Website.
•!• Following mark distribution will be followed for the assessment of candidates: (1) Written
Test=65%, (2) Viva-voce=10%, (3) HSC/Equivalent Result=15% and SSC/Equivalent
Result=10% (Total=100%)
•:• Help Desk will remain open from 0830 hours to 1730 hours on each working day from 18
August 2019 to 30 October 2019 at the reception of the university. For any query, applicants

•:• Admission cancellation and refund of admission fee will be executed as per following:
./ Before the commencement of class: 90% of the total admission fee may be refunded .
./ From 1-15 days after the commencement of class: 75% of the total admission fee may
be refunded .
./ From 16-30 days after commencement of class: 50% of the total admission fee may be
refunded .
./ Since 30 days after commencement of class: No amount of total admission fee may be
refunded.
