SGS Graduate Emergency Bursary

The School of Graduate Studies Graduate Bursary is intended to help students

overcome temporary financial emergencies due to unforeseen circumstances during the
period of April 1st to August 31st 2020. Awards during this period will normally be
a maximum of $500.

We understand this amount may not meet the total financial needs that some may
be experiencing, however we hope that it will lessen this burden. Before applying, students
are encouraged to seek other available sources of funding to ease financial stress (such as
those provided by our federal government), to ensure that our emergency bursary funding
is available for those who need it most.

• The application will be open from April 1, 2020 – August 31, 2020 or as funds are
available.
• Full-time domestic and international students who remain enrolled in their program
and who have unanticipated emergency financial needs because of the COVID-19
pandemic are eligible to apply to this fund.
• Allocation will take into consideration the scale of need across our student

be directly resulting from the pandemic.
