Outpatient Department  Ask the parents of the child to continue
the follow-up check up to the physician.
Diet  Encourage mother to breastfeed her child
in frequent small feedings.
 Instruct mother to put the child in
upright position while on feeding and 1 ½
after feeding.
 Advise mother to offer more liquids to
help loosen secretions and avoid
dehydration.
 Advise mother to offer soft foods such as
pureed fruits and vegetables for easy
swallowing and digestion.
 Instruct the mother to avoid feedings
before bedtime (90 minutes)
Spirituality  Ask the parents to create a conducive
and clean environment for faster
recovery of their child.
