This document contains two tables. The first table lists the genome sizes of various organisms ranging from 0.58 million base pairs in Mycoplasma genitalium to 17,300 million base pairs in Triticum aestivum. The second table shows the number of clones of common cloning vectors (pBR322, bacteriophage λ, cosmid, BAC) needed to represent the genomes of selected organisms. It lists that the human genome of 3.3 billion base pairs would require over 3 million pBR322 clones or over 100,000 BAC clones.
