Unique tourist destinations in the Buzau area

A tranquil place, astonishing, where nature reminds of the beautiful fairy tales of
childhood. It is the realm of Buzau that houses the most beautiful cascades in the county.
As you've figured it out, we're talking about Pruncea Falls, also known as Caşoca. The
impressive creation of nature is in the custody of the Podul Calului Massif, just 5 km from
Siriu, along the Caşoca River. Documentary, the name of Caşoca is mentioned in a charter
around 1534.
Uniquely beautiful, Caşoca Falls is part of an ecosystem that was fortunate to be
protected from the interference of humans. The waterfall is actually a series of smaller
waterfalls and an impressive main waterfall. It has a fall of 5-6 meters and it is framed by
a stone that comes out of the forest.
In the past few years, it succeeded in becoming one of the most important tourist
attractions on the Buzau Valley, which should not be missed. The view from here will
follow you long after you visited, making you wish to return again, with the same
enthusiasm. Those who visited the area say that it is a magnificent place and that it must
necessarily be put on the list of tourist destinations. The area surrounding the mountain
contains bike trails, and the one passing by to the waterfall has the following route:
Nehoiaşu - Gura Teghii - Cernatu - Podu Calului - Caşoca - Siriu - Nehoiaşu. It has a
distance of 52 km and a level difference of almost 1,230 m.
Another destination we propose is Cislău town. Besides the beauty of the area and
the clean air and horse stud from Cislău are good reasons to visit this wonderful area
Buzau offers. . It is located on the valley of the Buzau River, about 52 km from the Buzău
city, on DN 10 Buzău-Braşov. Established in 1894, the horse stud has entered history by
being the only one in the country to produce and grow horses of the English Pursange
race, considered to be the most important race of horses in the world. This large size horse
is intended for horseback riding, galloping and hurdles, some horses even perform
internationally. The stud contains about 130 specimens. In order to prove the
performances of the imposing animals, the stud has also arranged a trophy hall, where
there are trophies and distinctions obtained at domestic and international competitions.
Here, horses not only can be admired, but also ridden. Those who are brave can get horse
riding lessons from a coach and the four jockeys at the horse riding center. Money does
not have to be a problem, because the fares are affordable and the experience here is
unforgettable. Purchasing a horse is also an option, at decent prices, passionate people can
buy a English Pursange. The renown of the Horse stud from Cislău has long gone beyond
the boundaries of the country, proof being the increasing number of foreign tourists come
by to visit every year.
Besides the mentioned above, Eagle Lake or Bottom Lake is yet again a natural
and emblematic attraction for our county. It is located in the Siriu Mountains, on Mălâia
peak, at an altitude of 1420m. The lake is relatively small, being only 0.5 hectares wide
and not more than 2.5 m deep. The landscape surrounding the lake is an alpine, wild place,
not so known by tourists. It is the only place in the Buzau Mountains where black goats
can be seen. Lake Eagles can be reached in two directions: Siriu and Chiojdu.
All things considered, we presented Buzau in it’s characteristic beauty, with which
we already got used to.
