RUNFLAT OPERATIONAL & FITTING MANUAL
Runflat Systems for Armored/Up-Armored Vehicles:
Your vehicle is fitted with RUNFLAT Tire Systems for your safety and security. These assist in controlling
the vehicle after a tire blow-out at speeds and allow drivers to continue the journey with a damaged tire in an
emergency to a maximum distance of 50 kms.

Vehicles handle differently with deflated tires and sudden turns or other violent manoeuvres with deflated
tires can cause the vehicle to become unstable, for this reason, as soon as you become aware of a deflated tire,
SLOW DOWN immediately. DO NOT exceed the speeds of 50 kmph with a deflated tire. In an emergency you
are able to continue at a reduced speed to a place of safety to have the damaged wheel or Tire changed.
Runflat Inserts have to be removed to change tires. Tire pressures must be checked daily to reduce the risk of
damage to wheel rim and the tire.

Please follow these basic suggestions.

1) As soon as you become aware of a deflated tire, SLOW DOWN immediately.

2) If circumstances permit, stop immediately to establish the cause of the tire failure.
3) If an emergency requires you to continue, reduce speed to a maximum of 50km/hr and drive to the nearest
point of safety to a maximum distance of 50km. Avoid sharp turns or other violent manoeuvres.
4) At the first opportunity, stop and inspect the deflated tire for damage. If there are obvious signs of serious
tire damage, do not continue if the situation permits but change the wheel.
5) After any RUNFLAT use report the occurrence to the Armouring company Manager, who will arrange for
the system to be inspected by our technicians support engineer.

RUNFLAT Tire Systems are designed for repeated use, subject to inspection after each RUNFLAT use.

or as recommended, under inflation
