Behavior Management Plan:
This behavior management plan is for a general first grade class. I will promote a positive
affective environment by starting the day with each student sharing where they are as they walk
in the door. As students walk into the gym they will hit a face on the wall with their hands so I
can know who is having a bad day. If a student is having a bad day I will then be able to pull
them aside during the warmup and do a quick check in.
As a teacher I want to set up my classroom and do as much work as I can to limit the
amount of behavior management needed. I want to be able to have a classroom that is built on
trust and understanding for all students and myself. That being said, I want to incorporate the
schools voice levels policy, a safe seat, and a clip chart to help manage the students behavior.
 Voice levels
o The voice levels are from 0-4, 0 being no talking and 4 being outside voices. This
is just helpful to tell students when they are able to talk during class and when to
listen.
 Safe seat
o When conflicts erupt I want to have a “collect yourself” or “conflict” corner for
students to talk through their conflict. This corner can also be used when a student
needs 5 minutes to collect themselves or if they are being disruptive or not safe. If
I see a student in the safe seat or sent them there; I will start the class in the
activity and then go over to talk to the student and give them options for what
they would like to do.
 Clip chart
o During the class period I will use a clip up board for the class. If the students are
able to get a certain score by the end of the week, they will get a reward like
picking their music on Friday.
Class Routines:
 Start of class
o Students will come in and walk the first lap, and run until the music stops
 Fitness activity
o Quick activity to get the students moving and working on different components of
fitness
 Units
o We will be using a curriculum map, each week will be working on a movement
concept and skill theme
 Closing
o Home base, questions/review, bone of the week
