1. OBJECTIVES
Ensuring emergencies can be handled to minimize casualties, loss of assets of the
company as well as the negative impact on the environment.
2. SCOPE
This procedure includes the emergencies guidelines that may occur such as: fire/
explosions chemical spills, earthquakes, bomb threat, mass poisoning, and outbreaks of
viruses attack.
3. RESPONSIBILITY
3.1 The Chief of Emergency Response Team is a decision maker on behalf management
during emergencies situation. In the absence of The Chief of Emergency Reponse
Team, Coordinator will act as a chief.
3.2 Media Center is responsible to liaise with the external parties to deliver the
information.
3.3 Emergency Response Team Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the entire
team in dealing with emergencies situations and liaise with external parties (fire
brigade, police, ambulance, etc).
3.5 First Aider is responsible to provide first aid treatment to the victim.
3.6 Evacuation Team is responsible to lead all employees to the muster point based on
evacuation process during the emergency situation and ensure the completeness of
evacuated personnel as well as to help evacuate victims and or valuables.
4. DEFINITIONS
4.1 The incident is not planned, potential hazards or damage to the situation or event, not
cause people injured, damage or loss, when at that time little changes it could lead to
accidents (accident).

causing people injured, damage to or loss of goods, disruption of work and
environmental pollution.
4.3 Emergencies (emergency) was every situation is abnormal and dangerous or life-
threatening situations, requiring swift action to protect people, property and the
environment from losses due to the situation.
4.5 Emergency Response Team (ERT) is a group of people who prepare for and respond
to any emergency incident. This team is generally composed of specific members
designated before an incident occurs, although under certain circumstances the team
may be an adhoc group of willing volunteers.
5. PROCEDURE
b. If the fire can not be extinguished, Firefighters immediately activate the alarm
system for evacuation and alert the Emergency Response Team Coordinator to
contact the Batam Fire Authority.
c. ERT will investigate the fire accident and prepare the report.
5.2 Evacuation
a. If the alarm system is activated with evacuation announcement made, all
employees must leave their work station to the nearest muster point.
b. Evacuation Team to ensure all employees are evacuated before the door will be
closed to prevent the spreading of fire to other areas

b. For minor spills, clean the spills or leaks with provided spill kits (absorbent
materials) and put the contaminated materials in a hazardous waste bin.
c. For major spills, inform the ERT Coordinator and report immediately to the Chief
of ERT and Senior Management to follow up with government authorities.
d. Identify the type of chemical or oil spilled in the area and determine the source of
all spills or leaks.
f. Stop the source of leaks or spills to ensure that spills or releases of hazardous
materials or substances do not spread to other hazardous substances.
g. Plug the drains so that they are not contaminated by the chemicals
k. Remove the contaminated clothing & dispose them accordingly, then shower.
l. Decontaminate any tools used in the removal and clear-up of hazardous materials.
m. ERT shall ensure that appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is used
when handling chemical spills or leakage.
n. ERT will investigate the spills or leakage incident and prepare the report.
b. If the earthquake was very great and not allowed to leave the building, employees
remain in their respective working areas. Immediately take cover under a sturdy
table and protect yourself (head) from falling objects. Stay away from glass,

windows, exposed wiring, wall or shelf, and everything that could fall and injure

ourselves.
c. If it is possible to leave the building, came out in an orderly manner and avoid
crowding toward a safe gathering area (Assembly Point).
d. After the quake subsided, remain outside the building to avoid the aftershocks and
wait for further instructions from ERT, Management and others authorities.
e. If you are outside the building, avoid buildings and existing electrical wiring at the
top and remain in the open until the shaking stops.
f. After the shaking stops; DO NOT touch the damaged power cord, provide
assistance to the wounded or telephone to the hospital / rescue teams if necessary,
check for damage to buildings and remain idle until a safe condition.
h. ERT will investigate the earthquake impact and prepare the report.
b. Try to remember all the details of events, situations, signs or words of a stalker.
c. For objects, parcels or suspected parcel bomb, do not approach or open it before
they have been found. Authorities that will open it.
e. Chief of ERT or senior management immediately contact the police and give a
clear picture of a suspicious object or the threat.
f. Employees follow directions and instructions from ERT, senior management and
other authorities.

h. ERT will investigate the bomb threat and prepare the report.

b. Security and management will be trying to calm riots or demonstrations and advice
employees not to become a spectator, not to argue or enter into debate with
demonstrator.
c. If the situation gets out of control, management will ask for help to the police
authorities.
d. Management/ HR will negotiate and discuss with the parties concerned to find the
best solution.
b. First aider will coordinate with HR and Admin to the deliver the victim to the
hospital
c. The victim will be admitted to nearest hospital for examination and treatment.
d. As a precaution, all employee must pay attention to spoiled food sign (stinky,
slimy, wormy, strange taste, etc.) or drinks that taste, smell or dirt are improper,
and promptly report to the Admin department for immediate action.
e. HR will investigate the food poisoning incident and prepare the report.

c. Any employee who has been affected by the disease should receive treatment and
medical attention to recover completely before getting back to work. HR
departments ensure that employees have fully recovered from his illness before it
starts working again.
d. Each employee shall make efforts prevention of virus outbreaks or other biological
attack and prevent further transmission to others, are as follows:
- Implement prevention efforts are encouraged by the Government.
- Maintain a healthy lifestyle.
- Avoid public places and conditions of potential as a medium of
transmission of the disease.
e. HR will investigate the virus outbreak incident and prepare the report.
b. All employees shall stay alert and wait for further instruction. Upon hearing the
Company alarm or announcement, all employees and Subcontractors should
proceed to the assembly area immediately.
