SAFETY OPPORTUNITY: CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE

As we continue monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic, we are sending an update as part of our commitment
to keep you informed.
• We remain operational and confirm we still have no confirmed cases of COVID-19 on the project, including with employees,
subcontractors, or visitors. We continue to emphasize that employees use caution with the rumours and uninformed opin-
ions that are around.
• Should there be a positive case of COVID-19 on the project at any location, we will work with the local health authority to
ensure appropriate steps are implemented and information conveyed to anyone affected. We know this is unprecedented
times and are committed to transparency and the safety of our employees and colleagues. (Please also refer below to the
Liuna update below)

LiUNA COVID-19 Update

• Wednesday morning, we were informed a LiUNA employee had been confirmed to be positive for COVID-19, this employee
was based at their Wilson Avenue office and was member-facing, but did not travel to sites. Out of an abundance of caution,
these affected members were sent home because they had visited the dispatch office between March 1 and March 18. We
received an update message this morning from Local 183, that the test results they had published were not correct, and that
Toronto Public Health has confirmed since the test results were negative for that employee. The affected members that
were sent home as a result of this false positive exposure may return to work provided they are not currently experiencing
cold/flu symptoms. LiUNA Local 183 also confirmed that they had two other negative test results back from employees.

Social Distancing
• Please limit meetings/gatherings to a max. of 6 people.
• When possible, maintain a distance from each other.
• On-site, you will need to find ways to maintain an adequate working distance from each other, including limiting the number
of people in hoists and required orientations.

Self-Isolation
Travel Related
• The 14-day self-isolation period is still mandatory for all international travelers who have returned or are returning to Cana-
da. Employees who are currently on a 14-day self-isolation from international travel, you are asked to email the
health@crosslinxtransit.ca before your 14-day self-isolation period has ended, advising if there are any current symptoms
present before to returning. An employee must not return to work until a confirmation is sent.
Flu-Like Symptoms
• Anyone who is experiencing flu-like symptoms (i.e. coughing, fever, difficulty breathing) is not to come into work and contact
their supervisor. The employee will be asked to consult a health professional (via telehealth Ontario or your family doctor) or
your local health authority and seek medical advice before returning to work. If medical advice is to self-isolate, notify your
supervisor and the Health@crosslinxtransit.ca email.

Hygiene
Everyone can help prevent the spread of infections by practicing good hygiene and is encouraged to implement the following
measures:
• Washing your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
• Avoiding touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands
• Avoiding close contact with people who are ill
• Coughing or sneezing into your sleeve and not your hands
• Staying home if you are ill to avoid spreading illness to others
• Ensure work surfaces (e.g. desks and tables) and objects (e.g. telephones, keyboards) are kept clean and wiped with disin-
fectant regularly
• Reporting respiratory symptoms to your supervisor.

Information Services
With the surge in remote access to our network, the CTS IT team is working hard to try and keep up with the additional requests
for support, and to ensure the workflows and servers are all keeping up with demand. For some of the more basic “how-to” in-
formation, please see our employee essentials portal for information, and keep an eye out for emails sent to all on systems that
may be down or work-arounds available to issues that are being managed.

That’s all for now. We will continue to keep you updated.

If you have any concerns or questions, please consult the WHO guidelines, Health Canada, or To-
ronto Public Health.
