The Senior Project Engineer, within the Engineering business unit is focused upon defining, designing and implementing
infrastructure construction projects. This position plays a key role in supporting the delivery of the Corporation’s capital
investment program by dynamically responding and leading in an environment of emerging needs. This role reports to
Senior Project Engineer (Coordinator).

You are accountable for responding rapidly to emerging needs of stakeholders and third parties to enable safe, efficient,
integrated water systems that are engineered and procured to enable the investment programs defined benefits to be
realised for our region, its centres and communities.
You are accountable for the currency, accuracy, resourcing and timing of project delivery to ensure the Corporations’ capital
investment program remains relevant and benefits are realised by:-
Making sure professional engineering standards and ethics are maintained through the continuing professional
development (CPD) of yourself and your team, thus allowing the Corporation’s interests in Public Construction to
be informed and represented.
Ensuring the Corporation’s capital infrastructure projects are delivered in accordance with required internal and
external frameworks, procedures and review processes.
Ensuring the systematic analysis and evaluation of infrastructure problems to enable the translation of stakeholder
needs into engineering design parameters and specifications suitable for public construction procurement.
Ensuring engineering and project management are practiced from a basis of adequate knowledge, in accordance
with legislations, codes of practice, standards and industry accepted best practices.
Ensuring ethics underpins and defines the values and principles that shape the decisions you and your team make
in engineering and project management practice.
Ensuring commercial interests and obligations are governed and administered in accordance with contractual and

Ensuring the Capital Investment Program remains informed by liaising and reporting project time and cost
variances and participate in periodic review processes.
Meeting internal and external status reporting obligations associated with projects.
You must hold a tertiary qualification recognised by Engineers Australia in an engineering discipline relevant to the role
(civil, mechanical, environmental or chemical).
You will have obtained via sufficient relevant experience, or be considered eligible to achieve, Chartered status by Engineers
Australia (Associate, Technologist, Engineer levels), as a mark that you are recognised globally, by our community, industry
and Government as Professional.
