_The Challenge 
 
You  are  a wicked, smart engineer with a solid understanding of backend development, design 
and  implementation  of  RESTful  APIs  on  a  microservice-based  architecture  that  can  help  the 
team on a mission to provide A-class services to millions of users worldwide. 
 
Once  committed  to  the  cause, you will design and develop backend microservices that will be 
used  by  our  embedded  applications,  mobile  clients  and  other  backend  APIs  so  that  we  keep 
up to our promise of delivering a solid and robust technology product. 
 
Ultimately,  the  backend  services  that  you  will  design  and  implement  will  help  to  protect 
people in the connected world.

_The Role 
 
_Design,  extend  and  implement  highly  scalable  and  highly  optimized  new  microservices  in 
Node.JS  or  Java  for  our  backend  systems  that  integrate  with  various  components from Avira 
SafeThings  ecosystem  -  ideally  you  have  experience  with  both  programming  languages  and 
are willing to work with both; 
 
_Develop  distributed/  scalable  systems  and  high-volume  transaction  web  applications  in  a 
24/7  environment  which  includes  ​NoSQL  databases,  Kafka,  Elasticsearch,  Logstash  & 
Kibana​; 
 
_Collaborate  with  the  development  teams  running  key  components  &  building  A-top 
technology stacks.  
 
_Act  as  a  strong  partner  for  the  DevOps  and  QA  team,  to  make  sure  our  deliverables  and 
products make us proud. 
 
  _Work  with  the  Product  Manager  and  other  teams  including  embedded  development, 
network intelligence and mobile development team to deliver new features for our products;
