Devyn Grube is an accomplished teacher. I worked with Devyn as her supervising instructor in
her final semester of teacher preparation. This has included classroom observations, review of
written work including planning for instruction and assessments, interviews with Devyn as well
as conferences with the mentor teacher. Devyn has consistently demonstrated thoughtful and
skilled performance.
Devyn is a creative and thoughtful educator. She understands the importance of being well-
prepared in order to make the instructional times run smoothly. Materials including the use of
technology are employed to the benefit of the learning environment. Devyn creates a
classroom climate where children are comfortable, allowed to move around, and can access
their own learning materials as appropriate.
Devyn has made a commitment to asking rigorous questions in order to push the children to
think at higher levels. She works to design compelling lessons that attract children to learn.
She is aware of the needs of her students and offers support and extensions for learning as
needed. Learning tasks and assessment practices align with the instructional outcomes.
Devyn works flexibly with all of the children including those with learning needs, making
accommodations and using a variety of strategies.
Devyn is a reflective educator, assessing the effectiveness of her instruction and learning to
revise and adapt as needed. I have found her to be open to my suggestions as well as those
from her mentor teacher and peers. She has participated in opportunities to expand her
knowledge through professional development offered by the school as well as the University.
Devyn demonstrates high standards of behavior, respects confidentiality, and is committed to
continuing her growth as an educator.
It is without reservation that I recommend Devyn Grube for any teaching position for which she
is qualified.
