TODAY’s TILT…The AL Wild Card winning Mariners take on the AL East Champs the New York Yankees in the first game of
the best-of-seven American League Championship Series. RHP Freddy Garcia, who started Game 1 of the ALDS in
Chicago, gets the start for Seattle, while the Yankees counter with left-hander Denny Neagle. The game will be televised
nationally on NBC-TV beginning at 5:00pm with Bob Costas and Joe Morgan announcing. All American League
Championship Series games can be heard on KIRO-710 AM and the Mariners radio network with Dave Niehaus, Rick
Rizzs and Ron Fairly calling the action. In addition, all games can be heard nationally on ESPN Radio with Dan Schulman
and Buck Martinez announcing.

West Champions)…Seattle was 1-3 in the 1997 Division Series, losing to the AL East Champion Baltimore Orioles…the
Mariners were 5-6 in 1995, beating the wild card New York Yankees 3-2 in the Division Series before falling 4-2 to the
Cleveland Indians in the American League Championship Series…Seattle is 9-9 overall in play-off games…
IN THE ALCS…the Mariners are making their second ALCS appearance…in 1995 Seattle fell to Cleveland in the ALCS, 4
games to 2, after winning the Division Series 3 games to 2 vs. New York…in the 1995 ALCS, Seattle won Game 1 in Seattle
and Game 3 in Cleveland…
