Language,

Non-brain injured adults AND adults with a history of traumatic brain injury (TBI) needed for study
looking at the influence of brain injury on executive functioning in navigation and language production.

You will be asked to:

Complete a demographic screening

Participate in one approximately 2-hour session (including scheduled breaks) consisting of three
main sections:

a) A series of standardized tests meant to assess language, executive functioning,


visual acuity and perception, and hearing acuity.

b) A virtual, navigation task

c) A storytelling task

You qualify if you:

1) Are between the ages of 18-50


2) Are an individual with a history of a mild or moderate TBI
3) Are an individual without a history of TBI
4) Can make arrangements for transportation to and from the Philips Building at the University of
Connecticut
5) Have no current history of substance abuse or chronic mental illness.
6) Are a native English speaker.
7) Have normal or corrected vision and hearing.

Benefits:

Participants who complete the study will be compensated $15 per hour for their time and efforts. We
estimate that the task will take approximately 2 hours, however, participants may take a longer or shorter
time depending on their pace.
