Moles are a product of the concentration in moldm-3 ie

M and the volume in dm3 or litre. And 1 litre is
equivalent to 1dm3 which is the SI unit for volume. And
1dm3 is equivalent to 1000cm3. Meaning 1ml is also
equal to 1cm3. But you volume must always be
calculated in SI unit form.

Therefore number of moles found in 500ml of 0.2M is

equal to

500ml/1000ml x 0.2M = 0.1moles

mL of a 2.0 M solution?
1 mole. Use the following equation:

M*V=#moles

where M is the molarity in moles/L and V is the volume

in L. So:

2.0 moles/L * 0.5 L = 1 mole.

M (Molarity) means ‘moles per liter’, and 500 mL is half

a liter, so 500 mL of 0.2 M solution contains 0.1 moles.

The relationship between moles, concentration and

volume is, moles = concentration X volume.

Concentration = 0.2M, volume = 500mL = 0.5L

Moles = 0.2 x 0.5

= 0.1mol

Each molecule of heavy water (D2O) contains two
atoms of deuterium (each of which contains 1 neutron)

each atom has 8 neutron. So each molecule contains 10
neutrons.

One dozen molecules contains ten dozen (120)

neutrons.

Related Which needs has a greater mass of

solute: a 0.500 moles/L solution of potassium
chloride or a 0.500 moles/L solution of barium
iodide of equal volume? Explain
Each solution contains one half of a mole of solute.
Look up the molar mass of each compound. The molar
mass tells you the mass of one mole of the compound.
From molar mass, you should be able to determine the
mass of each compound you need to make each
solution.

Explain? The mass of one mole of a substance depends

on the number and type of atoms that make it up.
Atoms with a heavier atomic mass will have a larger
molar mass than atoms with a lighter atomic mass. This
is because molar mass defines the mass of Avogadro's

Related How many atoms of hydrogen are present

in 10g of glucose?
You need the formula weight of glucose (180.16 g/mol).
You can calculate this by using the atomic mass of each
individual piece, and summing it up. (6 * carbon + 12 *
hydrogen + 6 * oxygen).

Divide 10 g by 180.16 g/mol to get 0.05550621669

moles.

There are 6 moles of carbon for each mole of glucose,

12 hydrogen, and 6 oxygen.

Hydrogen = 0.05550621669 * (12 moles hydrogen / 1

mole glucose) = 0.66607460035 moles of hydrogen

Turn moles into number of atoms. Every mole contains

6.02214×10^23 atoms.

Hydrogen = 0.66607460035 moles of hydrogen *

RelatedWhat is the number of moles of KMnO4

presence of H2SO4?
As you can see, this is a textbook example of a redox
reaction, with KMnO4 being the oxidising agent, and
KI being the reducing agent. I will ignore those
species which maintain a constant oxidation state. Note
that only the oxidation states of Iodine and Manganese
will change during the course of this reaction.

First, I'll write the reduction half-reaction.

MnO4 − + 5e − + 8H + ⟶ Mn 2+ + 4H2 O

Now I'll write the oxidation half reaction.

RelatedHow many moles are present in 100 mL of

a 2.5 M solution?
Volume of the solution, V = 100 ml

Concentration of the solution, S = 2.5 M

Now, V × S = 100 × 2.5 = 250 millimole

250
= 1000
= 0.25 mole

0.25 mole of the solute is present in 100 ml, 2.5 M of

the solution.

The multiplication of volume (in ml) and

concentration (in M) gives the 'milli mole
number' of the solute present in that particular
volume.

If volume is used in litres, then it will be mole

number instead of milli mole number.
