5. I am responsible for maintaining an updated and accurate collection. My
responsibilities include updating my collections to meet the needs of patrons or maintaining digital catalogs and online databases. I help teachers integrate media and technology into their classes. I also provide instruction in media literacy and technology. 6. My daily activities include checking out and repairing books, assisting teachers and students with technology needs, and 7. I have a yearly budget that I maintain. I meet with teachers during their grade level meetings to get suggestions on topics for books I need to order. I also get suggestions from students using a google form. 8. With the increase of chromebook use in our district comes the responsibility of monitoring student use. The computer monitoring system that was in use wasn’t compatible with chromebooks. In attending a technology conference, I learned about a chromebook monitoring system called TechPilot and talked with our Technology Director about it and it is the currently used monitoring system in Valdosta City Schools. 9. My school does have a technology committee and we meet to discuss technology needs. We then pass those needs on to our curriculum director. 10. The best part of my job is pairing students with books that they love! 11. The challenging part of my job is when teachers don’t embrace technology and use me at their disposal.
