6o. ​Create an annotated playlist related to a local social issue you might focus on this semester.

Choose a set of six (or so) songs--you could even make the playlist on Spotify--and and write a
50-100 word annotation for each, sharing how each song comments on the issue.
Animal Shelter Playlist-

1. “Somebody To Love”- Queen

This song talks about how they want someone to love and you could go to the Animal Shelter to
find someone to love so that they are not euthanised. Animals will love you no matter what and
no matter what kind of a person you are. This song is a great representation of why you should
go to an animal shelter

2. “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)”- The Proclaimers

This song represents all the animals that are taken to and from shelters so that they have more
of a chance at surviving. They move them because they might have been euthanized at their
other shelter but now they are getting a chance to live and it could be the shelter that you are at
and you could be their forever home.

3. “Dog Days Are Over”- Florence + The Machine

This song represents when you do finally adopt a dog and their days of being in the shelter and
fearing if that day was their last. They are now hopefully going to a happy and healthy home
with people that will love them as much as they love you. You saved them from dying and They
will never have to face that fear again.

4. “Rescue Me”- Fontella Bass

This song says “rescue me can't you see I am lonely” that is how all the animals in the shelter
feel. Especially because corona is going around not many animals are getting seen by people
so they are more depressed than usual. They need people to rescue them so that they don’t
die. They shouldn’t have to suffer during the pandemic either.

5. “Holding Out For A Hero”- Bonnie Tyler

This song accurately represents what all the animals in the shelter need. They need someone to
save them because most likely they will be euthanized or just die from old age in the shelter.
They deserve to live the rest of their lives in a warm house with loving people. They are waiting
for their hero and it could be you

6. “Mr. Blue Sky”- Electric Light Orchestra

This is how the animals will feel once they are adopted. They were in this sad place for so long
and they are wondering when they will get to be happy again. The right person finally comes
along and adopts them and they are finally happy again and they get what they've waited for. A
loving home with loving people.
