Student Name: Billy Love
Student School: Elementary Inn
Student Grade Level: 3rd
Skill you are monitoring: 2nd grade DORF
Skill level: 2nd grade
Name of assessment used: DIBELS Next

Student goal (established in CBM Part 1): By November 28th, 2019, Billy will read 63
correct words per minute, with fewer than 3 errors per minute, on 2nd grade DORF 3 of 3 trials.

SUMMARY OF PROGRESS TO DATE: Plan Evaluation

A. Correct Words: Billy has not made substantial progress in correct words per minute.
There was one day where he exceeded (48 correct words), but there was one day
where his correct words decreased by almost half (24 correct words). Billy’s
approximate slope would be 1, meaning in average he has increased his correct words
per minute by 1 word each week. Billy’s slope line would be y= 0.3x + 39.1. It shows he
has made some progress.

B. Error Words: Billy’s error words have decreased. His beginning Aimline was 9. He is
down to 6 error words.

C. Observations: Billy is sometimes defiant in reading. The day Billy had gotten a 24 in
correct words, and an 8 in error words, he was not wanting to read the passage at all. I
could tell he was purposely makings errors and slowly reading.

D. Comparison to Goal: Billy will not be able to meet his goal line if he continues on
this trajectory.

NEXT STEPS
A. Summary of Decision Making: If the student continues on his trajectory he will not
meet his aimline of at least 63 correct words with 3 or less error words. His slope is
showing an estimated progress of about 1 correct words per week. If he continues on
this trajectory on the 10th week he will only be at 53 correct words.

B. Summarize Change or No Change: I will be making no change to Billy’s instruction.

Since his aimline is an ambitious growth rate, I will keep his instruction the same.
C. Rationale for Change or No Change: I will not be making a change because Billy’s
growth rate to his aimline is an ambitious growth rate. He is making progress on his
error words. He started off with 9 error words and came down to 6. His correct words
aren’t dropping dramatically (aside from the day he had 24).
