FADE IN.
1. INT. GUIDANCE. AFTERNOON.

As a hand reaches out for the pendulum, the swinging of the

massive bobs is synchronized with the ticking of the clock,
as the hands almost point to three o’clock.

The focus will return to the pendulum, continuing its

motion, then to the clock as the hands are close to reaching
three o’ clock.

The next scene shows the clock at the wall striking three o-
clock and the pendulum stops its motion and is located
parallel to the clock.

The title of the film is shown in the previous frame.

FADE
OUT.

2. INT. MEN’S COMFORT ROOM. AFTERNOON.

The bell starts to ring. Pearson Manny heaves heavily as he

looks at his reflection on the mirror. He holds a detention
slip on his right hand. The protagonist will get
disconcerted because of the sound of the bell.

He flinches as he touches his left ear with his left hand.

An extreme close up of Manny’s eyes will be shown as it

opens.
JUMP CUT.

3. EXT. SCHOOL’S HALLWAY. AFTERNOON.

As Manny opens his eyes, the scene changes from comfort room
to hallway — different sorts of students will be seen doing
their own businesses. The different personalities of Manny
will blend in the crowd, holding a similar detention slip on
their right hand.

Manny looks around and scans the area as if he’s looking for
something.

Then he’ll look at his right hand as he shakes his head.

He puts the slip inside his pocket as he strides his way to

the guidance office.

He’ll initiate eye contact with a girl, hugging a little

bear on her right arm and she’s clutching a detention slip
on her left hand.
He stops as he stares intently at the child.

The child will be frightened but someone will then approach

her and touch her shoulder.

A very religious girl holding a bible with a detention slip

between pages will smile at her.

RELIGIOUS PERSONALITY
Don’t worry. It’s going to be okay.

Manny will tilt his head.

He’ll be distracted by a hyper and unruly man who kept on

singing. He’s holding a detention slip on his right hand as
he continues to dance around two people – a nerdy guy and a
calm girl.

The nerdy guy keeps on tugging the hem of the calm girl’s
shirt because he is disturbed by how the unruly man is
acting around them.

CALM PERSONALITY
Garry, please stop what you’re doing.

The unruly man stares at the calm girl then gives her a
tremendous laugh. He then continues singing and moving
around the place.

Manny stops for a moment but will eventually just shrug his
shoulders. He’ll continue to walk but someone will stop his
tracks.

A carefree girl, radiating a rebellious-like personality,

smirks at Manny Pearson.

She’ll wave the detention slip in front of Manny’s face.

CAREFREE PERSONALITY
See you later, Pearson.

She’ll smirk again and bump her shoulders to Manny Pearson’s

shoulders as she walks opposite of Manny.

Manny Pearson looks stunned but will then shift his

attention to a violent man shouting at a girl.

The violent man is now staring at the nervous and scared

girl with too much intensity. Anxiety evident in how she
responds to the violent man.

As he speaks, the violent man harshly grapples the girl’s

shoulders and pokes the temple of the girl’s head.

VIOLENT PERSONALITY
IMBECILE! YOU AREN’T USING YOUR BRAIN AGAIN! LOOK AT WHAT
YOU HAVE DONE! ALL OF YOU ARE SO PATHETIC!

Tears are starting to build up in the face of the nervous

and scared girl. Then she catches a glimpse of Manny Pearson
looking at her, and shows an expression asking for his help.

Manny stares at her for a few seconds but he hesitates and

continues to walk with a face of pity, as the violent man
continues to harass the girl at the back of the scene.

FADE OUT.

4. EXT. PATHWALK TO GUIDANCE OFFICE. AFTERNOON.

Manny Pearson continues to walk towards the building where
the guidance office is located. After a few moments, he
reaches the building, staring at it as if he is
contemplating on going to the office.
JUMP CUT.
5. INT. BUILDING. AFTERNOON.
Manny Pearson enters the building and climbs the staircase.
As he goes up, it can be seen at the side of the staircase
that someone is behind Manny Pearson. Manny then feels the
omnipresence of someone behind him so he fastens his pace in
climbing the stairs.

When Manny Pearson reaches the door of the guidance office,

he slowly turns the door knob and opens it, only to see the
people whom he saw in the hallway already seated in the
office, with the guidance counselor at her desk, patiently
waiting for only one chair to be occupied.

Everyone in the room looks at Manny as if it was a crime for

him to be late at the counseling session.

The guidance counselor puts a piece of paper in a folder and

proceeds to greet Manny Pearson with a smile, as he enters
the room.

CONTROLLING PERSONALITY
Good afternoon, Manny. Come, have a seat.

Manny Pearson replies with a weak smile and takes the seat
directly in front of the guidance counselor.

Manny Pearson
Thank you, Ma’am.

CONTROLLING PERSONALITY
Elysia, Bruce, Kelly, Victor, Garry, Erica, Sandra, and
Angelica. For weeks now, we’ve been talking. You’ve
introduced me to a lot of different people…

The frame focuses on a child asking the religious girl a

question.

CHILD PERSONALITY
Why is the lady here?

CONTROLLING PERSONALITY
Each with a different name.
The nerdy personality whispers something to Manny Pearson’s
ears as the guidance counselor speaks.

NERDY PERSONALITY
She’s one of them.

CONTROLLING PERSONALITY
So my question is, who am I talking to now?

The violent man shows aggressiveness, slamming his hands on

the table. His words identical to what Manny Pearson is
uttering to the guidance counselor.

VIOLENT PERSONALITY & MANNY PEARSON

That doesn’t matter. How can we get out of this place and
never go back again?

The carefree and rebellious girl whispers to Manny as she

stares intensely to Manny.

CAREFREE PERSONALITY
Intimidation won’t work on me.

The guidance counselor continues to speak.

CONTROLLING PERSONALITY
Next week, you’re up for a behavioral evaluation. If it goes
well, we’ll stop having these kind of sessions, and
eventually you’ll be free from being with these people.

The religious girl looks at the ceiling, showing that she is

praying to her God.

RELIGIOUS PERSONALITY & MANNY PEARSON

Father, I know I have done so many horrible things. I did
terrible, terrible, terrible things.

The nerdy boy tries to control Manny by encouraging him to

deny.

NERDY PERSONALITY
No, no, deny everything, confess to nothing! We’re better
than this!
NERVOUS PERSONALITY
I saw him do the bad things, I’m not at fault!

The frame would preview a side angle with the guidance

counselor on the left and Manny and the other people on the
right. The violent man then threatens the guidance
counselor.

VIOLENT PERSONALITY
I promise I will rip your throat out if you don’t stop with
this nonsense of yours!

CONTROLLING PERSONALITY
It’s good you want to change. I appreciate your presence in
every session we have.

People start to murmur, the atmosphere getting noisier and

noisier. The people behind Manny are starting to become
unruly.

CONTROLLING PERSONALITY
The only way you can get better is if you ---

The violent man points harshly to the guidance counselor as

he cuts her dialogue.

VIOLENT PERSONALITY & MANNY PEARSON

You work for the government. You want to get inside my head.
You want to read my thoughts and I’m being held here against
my will!

CONTROLLING PERSONALITY
You are here because you have been behaving in ways that we
cannot anymore control.

Manny Pearson will start laughing, with the unruly

personality approaching the table of the guidance counselor.

CRAZY AND UNRULY PERSONALITY & MANNY PEARSON

Hahahaha! That’s hilarious! Wait, are you really a guidance
counselor? Give me a break! Hahahaha!

The focus will shift from the crazy man to the carefree girl
who starts talking.
CAREFREE PERSONALITY & MANNY PEARSON
I know who I am.

CONTROLLING PERSONALITY
Then tell me ---

The crazy personality suddenly pops his head out of the

table and starts to sing.

CRAZY AND UNRULY PERSONALITY & MANNY PEARSON (singing)

John Junior Jingle Johnny Smith, That’s my name too.

Some of the people at the back starts to sing with the crazy
man.
EVERYONE
Whenever we go out, the music never stops, there goes John
Junior Jingle Johnny Smith.

The people are arguing again, getting more aggressive as the

session with the guidance counselor continues.

CAREFREE PERSONALITY
All of you are really so pathetic!

VIOLENT PERSONALITY
Stop talking!

CALM PERSONALITY
Well, this is really out-of-hand already.

The child sings a nursery rhyme, while observing the adults

with a very anxious feeling.

CHILD PERSONALITY
Three blind mice, three blind mice, see how they run, see
how they run, they all ran after the farmer’s wife. She cut
off their tails with a carving knife. Did you ever see such
a sight in your life, as three blind mice. As three blind …

Manny Pearson starts to go back to his senses.

MANNY PEARSON
Mice -- M.

CONTROLLING PERSONALITY
M, you said M. So your name starts with M?

CRAZY PERSONALITY (SINGING)

That’s my name, too!

NERVOUS PERSONALITY
I want to get out of here!

MANNY PEARSON
M is for…

As Manny Pearson regains the light, the people personalities

start to have an intense commotion.

CONTROLLING PERSONALITY
M is for what?

RELIGIOUS PERSONALITY
We need help!

CHILD PERSONALITY
I just need to go back home!

NERDY PERSONALITY
What good are you?

CHILD PERSONALITY
Stop yelling!

The guidance counselor stands and slams her hands on the

table.

CONTROLLING PERSONALITY
ENOUGH!

The people freeze upon hearing the guidance counselor’s

voice and stops talking.

CONTROLLING PERSONALITY
All of you, quiet!
CONTROLLING PERSONALITY
I am here to help you, but I can’t do that if you won’t
listen to me. The only way you’re getting out of here is if
we work together.

CONTROLLING PERSONALITY
Now, you were going to say something.

The guidance counselor take her seat.

CONTROLLING PERSONALITY
Go ahead.

MANNY PEARSON
M is for Manny. Manny Pearson.

An eerie music can be heard. The camera angle is again

showing the guidance counselor on the left but on the right,
only Manny Pearson is present.

CONTROLLING PERSONALITY
Good to have you back, Manny.

MANNY PEARSON
Thank you, Ma’am. It’s good to be back.

CONTROLLING PERSONALITY
It’s been hard, isn’t it?

MANNY PEARSON
Yes, it has.

CONTROLLING PERSONALITY
Now, we can get back to work.

The guidance counselor stands and moves to the side of Manny

while the real guidance counselor enters the room and moves
towards his table.

MR. ALLEN (REAL GUIDANCE COUNSELOR)

Hello, Manny. As you know, you’ll be up for a behavioral
evaluation next week, and if you don’t mind, I’d like to ask
you a few questions.

MR. ALLEN (REAL GUIDANCE COUNSELOR)

So, how have you been?

The guidance counselor from before holds Manny’s shoulders

and utters words that are synchronized with what Manny is
telling Mr. Allen.

CONTROLLING PERSONALITY & MANNY PEARSON

I feel fine… Sir.
