Two of the major problems in the farming sector are major scarcity of labour and to maintain an
animal like a bull. In order to overcome these stumbling blocks the founder launched India’s first

very advantageous in horticulture & floriculture sector. It is a versatile multi-utility vehicle for
the Indian farming sector; it is a unique diesel tractor best for using on varied Indian landscape.
Along with farming utilities it also comes with the options of power tools etc . it’s amazing
feature is its energy efficiency. It can run upto 20 km per litre making it the only kind in the
market. This tractor also proposes excellent in class transport solution for Government and
Defense to overcome any obstacles which come in their way. By bringing this creative product to
the market they definitely added worth to the lives of the ‘Indian Farming Sector’ and various
other government sector.

Very recently, in the rise of the Pandemic Covid-19, where the world is going through the time
of crisis and there might be a shortage of ventilators. They have built a prototype of an
emergency portable ventilator, which electronically operates the Ambu bag. Which is definitely
one of its kind innovation. As of now, they are taking feedbacks and suggestions from a team of
doctors.
1) Understand the current CIM processes in the chosen organisation and evaluate them.
(AC 1.1: Evaluate current creative and innovative management processes in an
organization).
Innovation and creativity plays a massive role in organizations. An innovation makes
good companies great. This has to be combined with innovative and creative
management processes as it is a way of corporate behavior which is at ease with new
ideas and taking risks.
Powerland successfully follow the techniques below in order to promote innovation and
creativity and thereby improve the performance of the company.

 Investing in Idea Generation

Powerland extensively encourages idea generation within the team in order to figure out
solutions to complex challenges or to meet uncertain circumstances. Powerland believes
that a creative idea is the first steps towards developments process and this is usually
done by brainstorming as different minds come with unique ideas and from this they note
down the best ideas or the best ideas. With the help of idea generation they managed to
meet their primary challenge to develop a fuel efficient powerful diesel engine which
should be able to meet the present emission norms. After their multiple sessions of idea
generation and testing the feasibility of the same, they imported an ECU and electronic
fuel governor which can give more than 20 kms per litre.

 New Age Design

Powerland believes that an innovation should be such that makes substantial positive
change in the society. Powerland aims to see what exists now in the market as an
opportunity or those opportunities that may likely pop up in the near future. The creation
of this tractor will not only ease work for the farming sector but being a well-designed
multi- utility vehicle it can also be used for activities in government defense sector, beach
patrolling, forestry and fire fighting or simply for the purpose of leisure. Here the
manufacturing department is imperative to maintain its world class quality. Powerland is
further proud of being a monopoly in the Indian market where future business prospects
are very high.
 Customer contentment
Be it any organization, it creates its products keeping their consumer in minds. Powerland
is well aware of its sect of consumers and makes sure to fulfill their needs in the most
appropriate manner. It knows that no customer satisfaction = low customer base which is
why here are relationship rules which Powerland strictly adheres to.
 Tackle and resolve a setback in such a way that it is a win-win situation for both
the parties i.e. the company and the consumer.
 Team members must be effective in such a way that they do not break a bank of
the organization.
 Repairs must be looked at before replacements.
 The key is to ‘wow’ the customer beyond expectations.
 The team should be made to take certain customer decisions on spot without
much delay.
 It is vital to go through every minute detail.
 To forge healthy relationship with the customer to ensure brand loyalty.

 Test Marketing
Test Marketing is critical to new product success. Keeping this at the surface, Powerland
made sure that their unique tractor was trialed and tested numerous times to ensure
perfection. The tractor was also used by the founders whose son is national level Go cart
racer and by the staff members. The stakeholders were aware that the internal buy-in was
necessary or else the product would fail. So the ATV was tested on the farms where it
was essentially to be used. Test audience was sorted and testing branch was set up. The
feedback was taken and minor changes were made before the final production. It was
because of these testing efforts by Powerland they have a record of not a single fault with
their product in different sectors across the country.

 Outlining Possible Marketing Strategies

Powerland was very well aware of its customer base. Its potential customers being the
farming sector and Government Defense Sector. So it knew how important it is for them
to market their product. And being one of its kinds it needed extensive exposure to
potential clients. So firstly, the company appointed market researchers who could
develop a strategic marketing plan. It evaluated concept testing and laid its emphasis on
marketing segmentation, targeting and positioning. Powerland conducted trials for the
defense sector and demo was also given to the farming sector.

2) Provide a detailed explanation on the steps you would take to lead others in the
chosen organization to positively embrace innovation and change. (AC 1.2: Explain
how to lead others to positively embrace innovation and change).
For any organization to succeed it requires an environment which is based on positive
relationships and rethinking organizational skills. An effective leader ‘’kills
bureaucracy’’ in the organization and encourages open communication. Powerland
strongly believes in this and adopts the following techniques:

 Participative Leadership

importantly, it has encouraged the team members to be engaged in the process.

every effort is rewarded be it big or small.
 Show Gratitude Regularly

employees no organization can function efficiently. They appreciate the hard work and
efforts of their employees who makes their company profitable. Showing simple forms of
appreciation boosts the employees’ contentment and productivity of the company. This
further motivates the employees to think beyond the circle and engage in creative
thinking.

 Trained to innovate
Powerland understand that every employees level of learning and understanding is
unique. This is why it organizes monthly training camps on creative thinking. It provides
basic to advance training to its employees to enhance their thinking skills. The training
camps include workshops and caste study by dividing groups with different talents. At
every training the group which performances well is rewarded. This one technique has
been successful at Powerland as employees look forward to these camps.

 Flexible Working
Powerland understand that there is no ‘one-size fits all’ technique to motivate employees.
Every single team member has different techniques to concentrate and motivate
himself/herself at work. Powerland to a certain extent encourages flexible working hours
which allows the employees to engage in deep thinking at their own pace. Also, if the
employee can finish the work from home it is encouraged as it saves the time to
commute. In order to prove that they can work well from home, the employees work even
harder to deliver the needed results. Likewise, working in a different way can encourage
professionals ‘’to think out of the box’’.
3) Explain the Vision and Mission of the chosen organization and assess the influence of
it on CIM processes. You can choose any specific department if it’s a multinational
company with different products and services. (2.1 Assess the influence of vision and
mission on generation of creative and innovative management processes in an
organization)

Mission of Powerland

Powerland follows hierarchical order. Here all employees are assigned a particular role
and tasks to do. They function in an orderly manner and have a system of reporting their
work. However, every employee has an opportunity to take part in decision making or
voice their opinions and share their ideas. This system of organization ensures that all
tasks are carried out in a systematic manner without facing any confusion of roles and
responsibilities.

 Employee Involvement
Employee Involvement is crucial to the success of any organization. It has many
advantages to the organization as well as to the employees. When certain autonomy is
granted it boosts the morale of the employees at large. It further increases the employee’s
longevity with the organization. It fosters better relations with employees and therefore
contributes to productivity. Employees take interest to cultivate innovation, offer more
ideas and at times of crisis come with effective solutions. These practices are followed at
Powerland which has led to the development of this unique multi vehicle utility.

5) Assess risks and benefits of creative and innovative management ideas in your chosen
organization. (AC 2.3: Assess risks and benefits of creative and innovative management
ideas).
The creative and innovation management process has two extremes i.e. benefits and risks.
The challenge for an organization is to alter their threats into advantages. It is very
important to assess the potential threats and potential benefits in order to flourish.
Risk can arise due to:
 Lack of information
 unrelated details
 Lack of possession
 divergence of objectives

Following are the risks and benefits that will occur during the execution of creative
and innovative ideas in Powerland.

Risks

 Powerland may face financial risk if their investnment in an innovative product

goes wrong. As in this business the initial cost is very high.
 If their new product fails to grab customers attention than they will have to deal
with commercial risk.
 An employee is the key success factor. Powerland can face employee related risk
if there is lack of training, disharmony among employees or departure of a key
employee.
 Having narrow base of clientele, Powerland may lose its customers if the
demands are not fulfilled at the given time.
 Resource implication could be another risk as Powerland will have to form a very
strong Research and Development team.

Benefits

 Powerland has already launched an innovative product. They already enjoy

monopoly in the market because of their innovative product and therefore having
no competition.
 By investing in Research and Development, Powerland can come with more
innovative products in the near future.
 Recruitment of passionate staff is an indirect benefit to Powerland as they will be
the ones who will work towards the betterment and innovation of the company.
 Allowing the employees to be innovative will boost their morale and encourage
coming up with ingenious ideas.

6) Use change models to support the implementation of creative and innovative

management ideas in your chosen organization. (AC 2.4: Use change models to
support the implementation of creative and innovative management ideas).

 ADKAR Model
The ADKAR model of change is a change management tool which helps to identify why
some changes succeed and why some are unsuccessful. It is based on five steps that bring
about successful change.
Powerland can use the ADKAR model.
a) The first step is the awareness of the need of change. Powerland must understand
why change is necessary. It involves evaluating the need of new products in the
market and working towards developing it. It must conduct awareness programs for
its employees for them to feel the need of change.

b) Second step is to naturally develop a desire to support and participate in the

change. This can only be achieved after successfully attaining the first
step. Powerland must boost the morale of their employees by taking their opinions,
asking them to participate in decision making. This will enable the employees to
think innovatively without the fear of failure.

c) The third step involves providing sufficient information of the change. This can be
accomplished in the course of trainings conducted or other approaches to educate
the employees. With the help of the research and development department
Powerland must address to its team knowledge on how to change and knowledge
on how to act upon when the change occurs.

d) The fourth step refers to the actual performance of the employees. The ability of
the individual to perform needs to be supported by the management. Powerland can
provide the needed training and coaching to its employees and also think of ways
to make resources easily available in order to get started with the various
innovative ideas everyone comes up with it.
e) The final step is an essential one where it is emphasized to sustain the change that
has occurred. This is the stage of strengthening. To ensure the sustainability of the
change Powerland must involve the Resource and Development department to
continue to develop innovative products in order to maintain their monopoly. And
to sustain the change among the employees it is important to provide them with
constant positive feedback, recognition and improvement measures.

 Kurt Lewin’s Change Model

Unfreeze

The first stage of unfreezing is the most significant stage. In this stage we are gearing up
for change. Here we make each person in the organization understand that change is
necessary and we have to go beyond our boundaries. We must make sure that every
employee is positively ready to accept change.

Change

In the second stage people are ‘’unfrozen’’ which means they are prepared for change to
take place. This stage is exhausting at the same time crucial because we are implementing
our innovative ideas with the help of the research and development team. This requires a
lot of planning, plotting, execution, testing etc. at the same time we must make our
employees believe that thus change is good for them and keep them constantly motivated.

Refreeze

The final stage of ‘’refreeze’’ is to establish stability in the change that has been
implanted and making sure that there is no going back to where we used to be. However,
the organization must keep in mind that this isn’t the end of innovation. The team must
constantly work to think and create innovative products which are beneficial to the well-
being of the organization as well as the society.

Powerland can use Kurt Lewin’s model of change in future to implement innovative
ideas. Even though it seems very basic it can definitely be used when developing new
products or improving their current product.

7) Produce an appropriate rationale to persuade stakeholders of your chosen

organization of the benefits of a creative and innovative management idea. (AC
3.1: Produce an appropriate rationale to persuade stakeholders of an organization
of the benefits of a creative and innovative management idea).

Powerland’s top-level management persistently had to provide appropriate justification to

its stakeholders which will convince them to adopt the innvoative idea. The justification
that is presented as the outcome of creativity and innovative management should be a
sign of the better picture of the company in future prospects. This is very crucial to any
developing organization that aims to go international in the coming years. We know that
innovation works wonders for the company. And when it comes to Powerland its first
very product has been one of its kinds so far. So, we can clearly see that here creativity
and innovation has only been beneficial across all dynamics. As long as there is scope
for innovation and creativity it will never be disapproved by its stakeholders. The
rationale here will portray the advantages of such progress. However, potential results
must be clearly explainedto the stakeholders. The likelihood of additional expense should
be parallel with the outcomes; or else there are high chances that such changed will be
declined by the stakeholders.

Powerland has always supported Innovation and creativity. It makes sure that it provides
its employees with the essential resources they may require. They should also given them
a greens signal to do things that has chances of showcasing creativity without having the
fear of disapproval. They should also support the resource and development team to
constantly work towards change. The IT dept must be with the advanced technologies
which will assist them to develop innovative technology. However, these milestones can
only be reached if the top-level management allows creativity and innovation to take
place in the organization by motivating their employees and always pushing them to do
better and better. The above discussed plan must be adopted by Powerland in order to
effectively implement creativity and innovation in the organization.

8) Communicate a creative and innovative management idea to stakeholders of your

chosen organization. (AC 3.2 : Communicate a creative and innovative management
idea to stakeholders of an organization)
At this stage effective communication among all the stakeholders is imperative. To
communicate to stakeholders about the present innovative and creative strategies,
Powerland can use stakeholder analysis tool to recognize the major stakeholders who hold
an important role in the company. Powerland’s primary stakeholders are those key people
that notably influence the success of the organization. The internal stakeholders have the
power to promote the products and create demand for new products.

It is vital for the top-level management to conduct a thorough research relevant to the
process of change thus clarifying to the stakeholders about the need and advantages of
change. Communicating through facts is one the best ways to convince the stakeholders.
Thus the Top level management must ensure that they have the sufficient information,
statistics and facts to bring innovation in the organization.
Demonstration is a different procedure that facilitates the members to comprehend how
change will work. Here the duty of the top-level management is to explain to the
stakeholders about their proposal by the means of creative and innovative management
ideas. Nonetheless, it is important to ensure that the demonstration is practical. At the same
time, it’s vital to ask the stakeholders to ask questions. This way if the stakeholders have
any doubts it would be cleared and moreover they will feel they have a say in this. But, the
top-level management must be very careful while communicating with the stakeholders
because if they aren’t clear then the stakeholders will probably discard the idea of
innovation which will hamper the organization.

Another effective way of communication is to conduct regular team meetings. Scheduling

team briefings can be very beneficial as the employees are educated about the changes with
are necessary for the organization. They are also open for discussion and brainstorming
sessions can be conducted at the same meetings. Powerland must ensure their employees
that their opinions are valuable to the success of the organization. Powerland should also
keep their stakeholders motivated. We are aware that innovative management is all about
stimulating people. Powerland must create an atmosphere where creativity and innovation
is accepted and push their employees to pursue the same.

9)Establish key goals and priorities for implementation of a creative and innovative
management idea for your chosen organization using feedback from stakeholders.
(AC 3.3: Establish key goals and priorities for implementation of a creative and
innovative management idea using feedback from stakeholders)

It is vital for any organization to set key goals and priorities and work along the same line.
Having your goals set helps to implement creative and innovative ideas. Powerland also
has their key goals and priorities established in every department of the organization.
Implementing any novel idea is not as easy as it may seem. It requires a whole new set of
changes in the organization. It needs to have sufficient financial resources, train the
employees for the change, marketing and sales etc.
Here the involvement of stakeholders is very crucial. They should assemble chief
information related to innovation and then establish the key measures that enahnces the
output of the organization. Powerland must also consider financial resources before
executing the change. The organsiation may want to invest in an innovative idea; on the
other hand, it may not succeed because of inadequate resources. Consequently, innovation
should only be put into action if the organization can meet the expense and it is the need of
the hour.

Powerland should also seek to train their employees. As it is an important goal before the
organization implements the change. preparation would facilitate the team members to
understand and prepare themselves for the change. Trained employees are a valuable asset
of the organization and they are the ones who will enable the smooth implementation of the
change. However, the stakeholders must be kept updated about the training as it will
involve funds to conduct such sessions.

Powerland must also stay close to its customers through market scanning and by building
key associations with them. Also utilize stakeholders logical skills and identify prospective
innovation in all areas. These are some of the concerns which should be prioritized and key
goals that need to be established before any sort of change occurs in the organization.

10)Assess the barriers to the implementation of a creative and innovative management

idea in your chosen organization. (AC 4.1 : Assess the barriers to the implementation
of a creative and innovative management idea in an organization)

Like any other organization, Powerland may also be vulnerable to barriers while moving
towards innovation. Its important to be conscious of the barriers that the organization can
meet and should be dealt with utmost care to avoid breakdown of the organization. Barriers
in an organization can be of two types i.e. internal and external. Internal barriers rise within
the organization and external barriers are due to the factors outside the organization.
Internal barriers
 opposition to change
 when the organization is not supportive of innovation
 lack of resources, insufficient finances
 when organization focuses on risk avoidance
 unsuitable procedures for managing innovation

External barriers
 changes in the demand of the customer
 economic conditions
 change in government rules
 limited supply
 cutthroat competition

Powerland has to be ready to combat certain barriers. A key barrier could be the
unpreparedness of employees. This could be natural barrier as all the employees in
Powerland are tuned to work in a steady manner and a change in the process could make it
difficult for them to adapt and may even take longer. As a direct effect, this could hamper
the productivity. So, it is very important for Powerland to train its employees to the change
will occur. Another possible barrier could be the financial funds of the organization. It’s
possible that due to some monetary limitations as Powerland needs high initial investment,
it may make way for incompetent innovative and creative practices. This can definitely
have some serious effects on the image of the company and can hamper their future
endeavors. Also, the stakeholders might sometimes disapprove innovations, so persuading
stakeholders to support innovation could be an added barrier. This is an obstacle towards
change in the organization. Powerland must also make it clear to its employees they can
convey their ideas without the fear of failure, as this will not only boost their self-esteem
but also make them think out of the box. However, if there is no effective communication
and all the commands are led down in a traditional manner from top-level management that
no employee is going to move towards innovation.
At times, the company may not be able to meet the customers’ demands and
requirements due to mismanagement and when the decision- making process is affected.
Being already a monopoly in the market, Powerland must not take any chances here or else
they may invite competition. Also, if there are any changes in the government rules with
regard to agriculture or vehicles. The company may suffer a setback if not prepared.

11) Plan a strategy to overcome identified barriers to the implementation of a creative

and innovative management idea in your chosen organization. (AC 4.2: Plan a
strategy to overcome identified barriers to the implementation of a creative and
innovative management idea in an organization).

We have highlighted above the various internal and external barriers that Powerland can
face. However, we are further going to draw attention to various strategies which
Powerland can adopt to combat these barriers. Implementation and scrutinizing strategies is
challenging while practicing innovation in the organization. This is why it becomes
essential to be aware of the possible barriers that can rise and ways to deal with these
effectively.

The following four steps can be used to formulate the plan

 Fundament refers to comprehending the reasons behind a particular process that

has been selected and carefully strategizing each step.
 Execution puts the process into action and closely following up with ways its
execution.
 Commitment is to inform the employees about the process in detail and assuring
them that it will be the finest decision for all.
 Funding is about the monetary resources that are required for the execution of the
strategic plan.

It is important that while formulating strategies it adopts innovative and creative strategies
that are constant with the overall functioning of the organization. Strategies shouldn’t be
formulated for the sake it, Powerland must only form and implement innovation only in
those areas where it is required.

Now, we shall see how Powerland can strategize to combat each of the identified barriers in
the above question 4.3. Unpreparedness of the employees is one of the blockades which
Powerland can conquer by providing its employees the needed guidance regarding the
change that will be implemented, giving them chance to clarify on their questions and to
voice their opinions on the same. However, this training session should be completed
before the desired change is put into action. This way the employees will be ready for the
change and work competently. Another potential barrier could be the insufficient financial
resources of the organization. To come up with a new vehicle Powerland needs high initial
investment. However, this problem can be solved if the organization looks for investors or
to opt for loans. A critical barrier is to persuade the stakeholders, the best way to connect
with the stakeholders is to provide them with satisfactory information and to demonstrate
the change to them in the most innovative and creative way. The barrier of fear of failure
can also be tackled effectively by fostering an environment of risk-tasking and not risk-
avoidance. This motivates the employees to take risk without fearing failure. When it
comes to the barriers of change in government rules and policies, it is important for
Powerland to keep itself updated with all the changes.

12) Explain how a strategy plan for overcoming barriers will ensure innovative change is
achieved in your chosen organization. (AC 4.3 : Explain how a strategy plan for
overcoming barriers will ensure innovative change is achieved)

The steps discussed above in 4.2 will surely have a constructive impact on the organization
if the steps are followed resourcefully. The strategy discussed above will leave a positive
mark on its employees who are the key to the success of the organization. Providing them
with necessary training and including them in decision-making process will not only boost
their self-esteem but will also keep them motivated to work towards the betterment of the
organization. This will have a direct positive effect on the productivity of the organization.
Successfully meeting the demands and requirements of the customers will further remove
the blockades and support creativity and innovation in the organization.
Like any other organization Powerland too wants to triumph over its obstacles and rise
effectively while implementing innovative changes in the organization. The only way to do
this is to develop procedures to tackle these blockades and apply them religiously. Accurate
planning and implementation will absolutely enhance the overall performance of
Powerland. With rapid change in technology, Powerland will definitely have to keep aside
adequate funds in case of utmost crisis. If these things are taken care of than Powerland
will definitely move towards productivity with minimum barriers to deal with. However, it
should also work along the following steps to attain success.
 Innovative culture of the organization
 tactical ways of leadership
 effective management
 open communication
 risk-taking environment

13) Communicate a strategy plan for overcoming barriers to relevant stakeholders in

your chosen organization. (AC 4.4: Communicate a strategy plan for overcoming
barriers to relevant stakeholders in an organization).
At Powerland, stakeholders play a central role to accomplish the innovative change through
strategic planning. Therefore, it is necessary that there is effective communication among
all the levels of stakeholders such as highest management, employees, dealers, customers
etc. communication should be made frequently but it also depends on the kind of barrier the
company is trying to deal with. However, it should involve all the stakeholders or else there
will be miscommunication and the strategic plan will not be implemented effectively.
The top level management of Powerland should be should be well informed about the
potential barriers and strategies to combat those barriers with transparent communication at
all levels in order to avoid future crisis along with this the employees need to be aware of
all the changes and the decisions taken to keep them motivated to do better. This can be
done by conducting weekly meetings, trainings, daily to-do duties, emails etc. At the same
time employees need to be reinforced by rewarding them with incentives, praise, important
roles to play as this will boost their self-esteem and provide them a sense of security.
Lastly, Powerland must also keep its customers connected through social media,
demonstration meetings. Taking feedback from the customers is very important to
