They are choosing in surfing Internet as their daily activity instead of outdoor activities. The
internet and mobile phones systems are the two biggest systems in helping society in
communication and play an essential role in our daily social activities and development of
identities in a positive way. On the other hand, these same technologies are also often used
negatively. The internet is now becoming a source of confusion and anxiety that previously are

mobile phones. Actually, the children are not able to identify what happening to them is going
through a form of bullying. They will feel unsecure, helpless, and alone or misunderstood. In fact,
cyberbullying can lead to stress, unhappiness, depression, and even suicide. Suicide is the second
leading cause of death among young people aged 16-24.

The society should be concern about what is happening and what the reason behind this
cyber bully case is. Is there any way to stop this cyber bully? Bullying is not a new phenomenon,
but the widespread acceptance of new communications technologies has enabled this bullying
behaviour to cyberspace, a phenomenon widely characterized as "cyberbullying." As mobile phone
and internet use become increasingly common, so has the misuse of this technology to bully.
Cyberbullying is bullying that takes place over digital devices like cell phones, computers, and
tablets. Cyberbullying can occur through SMS, Text, and apps, or online in social media, forums,
or gaming where people can view, or share content. Cyberbullying also includes sending, posting,
or sharing negative, harmful, false content to someone. It can include sharing personal or private
information about someone else causing embarrassment or humiliation. Some cyberbullying
crosses the line into unlawful or criminal behaviour.
Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation senior vice-chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye says
social media makes it easier for youths to get involved in bad behaviour, such as physical bullying
and cyberbullying. “Based on CyberSecurity Malaysia’s statistics, cyberbullying among students
occurs almost every day, with 338 cases reported last year compared with 291 cases in 2014. “The
number was equally high in 2012 and 2013, with 250 cases and 389 cases respectively.
(VIJAINDREN, 2017) Many youngest facing mental problems because they cannot overcome
this effect that brought by cyber bully. It seems like the cyber bully case is dramatically increased
and it means there are more and more children or teenagers becoming victim. Internet is a useful
system on information flow and communication channel but the society use it in a negative way
and turn Internet become a dangerous place and cause psychological harm to others. Cyberbullying
is not only happen in our country, Malaysia, it also happens in other country and the higher
percentage of cyberbullies and victim of cyberbully is in United State.

There are many types of cyberbully such as exclusion, peer pressure, stalking, physical
bullying, blackmail, digital character assassination, and real life threats. Exclusion is the
cyberbully tries to alienate your friends, or make your peer group mock or hate you, leaving you
alone and vulnerable. They will not stop with exclusion and once somebody has been excluded,
the cyberbully often moves on to more serious attacks. If peer pressure is the cyberbully tries to
get you to do or say things that you don’t want to do or say, by telling you that all the other kids
do it, or by suggesting that you won’t fit in. The cyberbully follows you on all your social media
and gives you unwanted attention is a kind of stalking process. This form of cyberbullying is more
common among the adults. If the cyberbully knows you in real life, he or she can combine
cyberbullying with physical or social bullying and becoming more serious case and cause the
victim more anxious and affect his or her life badly. Next will be digital character assassination.
They will stop at nothing and just want to destroy as much of your virtual identity as possible and
also destroy your real life as well. Blackmail is they treat the victims with disclose the confidential
information about the victim that would be harmful and embarrassing to them. Usually the
information is obtained through hacking, usually it is obtained directly from the victim.

which he too is abused in many ways, verbally or physically or he might even be cyber-bullied.
Perhaps, they are just simply bored or completely rotten to make everyone else's life messy. Many
times cyber-bullies work in groups because in that way they feel stronger but they inwardly,
sometimes, do not enjoy their actions. Their main problem is that they cannot move away from
their team because they feel unsafe and they have the fear that they will get cyber-bullied
themselves. They will get a false feeling of satisfaction when they send threatening and flame e-
mails to their victims.

General statements about dominance rates of cyberbullying are difficult to make, as

research indicates that rates of cyberbullying vary considerably depending on numerous factors.
Nonetheless, it is clear from recent Canadian studies on the nature and prevalence of cyberbullying,
that cyberbullying occurs frequently and is a widespread phenomenon affecting predominately
youth but also some adults. The Senate Report also highlighted that youth who belong to minority
groups or who are perceived to be different are at increased risk of being targeted, such as those
who have a disability, are overweight, are members of ethnic minority groups and those who
identify as, or are perceived to be, lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgendered. (Cyberbullying and the
Non-consensual Distribution of Intimate Images, 2017)

to a child extremely huge because child such a new born, they don’t know about how to face and
dissolve the situation smoothly so there were some cases which is children resist about the cyber
bullying with suicide. It is a very sad case when the news was reporting about it. In addition,
children feel helpless to confide to adult like parents and teachers because they feel ashamed and
wonder will they be judged, if not will the situation become worse and worst. It is not only appear
in child also adult but the adult can handle the stress more than child for sure.

For most of the cyber bullying affects their everyday lives is a continuously stress and

always forget about the responsibility of every single comments on social media because of the
anonymous of account. In fact, the one who make or do cyber bullying to others can be separated
into two kinds which is release stress from study or work and kind of no reason but just for fun.
With mobile technology being so freely and easy, it is ongoing issue and one that is relentless.
Cyber bullying can be said like a snow ball the longer the time the larger the size and will disappear
when the sun come out. The thing is a cyber bullying not only the victim have to improve or save
themselves the others people like speaking bad words or damage action also need to have a deed.

Cyber bullying are famous in this modern era. It cannot be ignored because the cycle is

the belief that if she alters how she looks then the looping of bullies will be stopped. In other times,
they will try to change something about their appearance or attitude in order to avoid additional
cyber bullying. Sometimes, they also feel angry and vengeful. They will get angry about what is

computers and it became one of the most important ways they communication is removed, they
can feel secluded and cut off from their world.
Way to solve cyber bully
Students and teachers should always have conversations about relationships on a daily
basis. Although teachers can't preach kindness to students; but they can teach students how to be
nice and kind to one another. Teachers needs to structure learning activities in which children can
learn to view individual differences as unique sources of strength. For example, students who are
involved in any various activities in school should attend meetings about teaching students how to
respect each other. This will help teachers prevent cyber-bullying in school by drawing students
together. People have to understand that some children bully because they have emotional and
developmental problems, or because they come from abusive families. Teachers have to
understand that this is only because students requires their help.

Using the internet privacy and security features: Almost all the websites offer many options
in security and privacy settings. The people facing cyberbullying should learn to use the internet
safety and privacy settings effectively. Using the features like blocking and reporting a person or
privatizing your profile helps preventing cyberbullying. It is important to identify the people with
whom everything on the person’s profile can be shared. Cyberbullying Prevention Programs by
Schools: High Schools should have programs that help students understand cyberbullying. The
schools should have proper teams to train the students to utilize internet based security tactics.
Moreover, the students should be taught to face the cyberbullying bravely and report the incidents
to parents and teachers immediately. An open atmosphere and counselling sessions also help
identify, prevent and eradicate cyberbullying. Preventing communication from the cyberbully, by
blocking their email address, cell phone number, and deleting them from social media contacts.
Report their activities to their internet service provider (ISP) or to any social media or other web
sites they use to target you. The cyber bully’s actions may constitute a violation of the website’s
terms of service or, depending on the laws in your area, may even warrant criminal charges. Report
it Most social networking websites have easy, anonymous reporting systems. Teach kids that
anytime they learn that cyberbullying is taking place, they should report it right away. The site will
take down the content and your child can feel good knowing that he took decisive action to help a
victim of cyberbullying without putting a huge target on his own back.
Schools can provide parents and students with a handbook that details their Internet policy.
Schools are encouraged to employ programs that openly discuss the dangers of cyberbullying and
what targets can do when they become victimized. The goal is to take a proactive step and prevent
cyberbullying from ever occurring. In order for students to take a proactive stance on cyberbullying
they must be educated that their online interactions have real life consequences. School officials
can help by adding cyberbullying to existing curriculum in health classes and allowing law
enforcement officials to speak at assemblies about the legal implications of cyberbullying.
Informing students on how to deal with cyberbullies in a legal sense will likely deter students from
engaging in cyberbullying. Schools can also implement further programs that discuss critical
thinking and the dangers of bullying behavior. This can come in the form of assemblies with guest
speakers that offer a message of hope for targets as well as bullies. Students will be provided with
information on how to get help and how to prevent this type of treatment.

These programs can also offer tips on how to avoid becoming a target for cyberbullying.
Students are encouraged to never reveal personal information to anyone that they do not know.
Cyberbullies have been known to pose as trusted friends online and trick targets into revealing
potentially embarrassing information. Also, students will be informed of the potential legal
implications of sending or transmitting nude pictures of minors under the age of 18 through cell
phones or e-mail messages in what is known as "sexting" 。Teaching students how to protect
themselves though smart usages of technology decreases the chance that they will be victimized
in the future. The lines of communication must be kept open between students and teachers.
Students will be more willing to report cyberbullying if they know that school officials will
actually do something about it. Teachers need to be informed on how to handle bullying they
witness in person and how to report it to the proper authorities. It is important that teachers also
ask the assistance of school counsellors who can get involved with a student's parents and the
situations they face at home. These measures will ensure that students remain willing to contact
trusted adults when their efforts at defusing potentially dangerous situations are unsuccessful.
