PEOPLES BIODIVERSITY REGISTER

The People’s Biodiversity Register (PBR) is a


mandatory register to be made at every
gram panchayath, taluk panchayath and
district panchayath according to the
Biodiversity Act 2002. It mainly involves
documentation of flora and fauna
according to the 31 formats issued by the
National Biodiversity Authority.
The volunteer intern will work directly with
our research team and assist them in
preliminary documentation, designing
methodology and analysis of data. This
internship provides an opportunity to
interact the local communities comprising
of Vaidyas(local healers), various
community knowledge holders and forest
department officials of Palwal, Kaithal and
Mewat Districts of Haryana
.
Essential skills:
The applicant must have basic
knowledge of botany/zoology/ecology
Any science graduate
Proficient in handling large data sets in
Microsoft Excel and Word.
Must at least know 2 of the following
languages -
Hindi/English/Haryanvi/Punjabi
Important Note:
Based on the intern's interest he/she can work from
home or join during field documentation
The intern will be provided with a certificate and based
on their qualification can also apply for a fellowship.
Based on the performance during the project the intern
will be considered for a fellowship for other projects.
The traveling and food charges will be covered in this
internship.
