Academic Artifact
Future career interests (if known):
I would like to be a pediatric surgeon
Description of artifact/assignment:
The assignment I chose is my first AP bio test all the way up to my last AP bio test. It is just
a scantron and a piece of binder paper with my short answers on it.
What academic skills did you use that are specific to this artifact/assignment?
I did a lot of thinking on a daily and studying which took a lot out of me I did not
procrastinate and I always took my time on everything so I would not be stressing which is
how I kept my GPA above a 4.0
What general academic skills did you use (skills that would be used in any academic class)?
For this I did a lot of studying the night before, and really understanding the unit and if not
asking for help so that I wouldn’t fail these tests because they really do have a huge impact
on your grade.
Did you see growth in your targeted soft skills through the course of working on this
Artifact/Assignment? Explain.
I did see growth in my targeted soft skills, I have kept my grade in that class at B also
working my hardest so that it won’t go down, and for my first semester, I passed it with an
A which is a 4.0 GPA.
CHS Portfolio
Provide an example of how these academic and/or soft skills are used in a career in which you
are interested.
Well, this is AP bio we are talking about, we learn about evolution, life, and most
importantly the body which as to do with what I want to be because if I want to be a
pediatric surgeon I have to know the anatomy of a human. Colleges seeing I did well in this
class gives me more of a boost towards my career and it makes me feel a little more
prepared for when I go to college.
