ä Please read the following notice before activating your Trailer ABS Suite
applications.
To use the Trailer ABS Suite applications (i.e., Eaton ABS, Haldex ABS, Wabash
ABS), you need to activate all three of the applications in the suite. To enable you
to activate the applications, you will be provided with three sets of product keys/
product serial numbers. These codes are printed on stickers on the packaging for
the Trailer ABS Suite software and documentation.
You must register all three applications before beginning to use the application
specific to your service department.
NOTE:
i If you require assistance with either of these tasks, please refer to the Pro-
Link iQ™ Hardware and Software User Manual or contact NEXIQ Technol-
ogies™ product support at (800) 639-6774.

Information intended to help you to address or anticipate potential issues are pre-
sented in the following manner:
Specialized Text
The following specially formatted text is used to help you to differentiate certain
elements discussed within this manual:
Example: “A check mark is placed in the check box next to the Total
Fuel Used parameter.”
This chapter introduces you to the functions available on the FAULTS tab of the Trailer
ABS Suite.
NOTE:
i For the purposes of illustration, this guide employs screen captures from the Haldex
ABS application. These may differ somewhat from the screens displayed if you are
running the Eaton ABS or Wabash ABS applications that are also part of the Trailer
ABS Suite.
Getting Started
After the vehicle and fault scanning process is complete, the FAULTS tab is dis-
played on top of a number of other tabs, making it the active tab.
NOTE:
i The Pro-Link iQ™ Hardware and Software User’s Manual describes vehi-
cle and fault scanning in detail.
The FAULTS tab displays how many active and inactive faults were detected
during scanning. You can click the FAULTS tab at any point (an exception being
when you are in the midst of an actively running calibration or test) to bring it to
the top of the tab stack and make it the active tab.
• ACTIVE
• INACTIVE
The iQ displays the active faults in a list on the left side of the screen and the
inactive faults in a list on the right side of the screen.
NOTE:
i The name of the module is in the top line of each fault found for that
module (e.g., Brakes, Trailer #1).
The header of the active faults list displays the number of faults in the list (for
example, ACTIVE - 2).
Use the Up and Down buttons to navigate the list to view all the fault codes found
during scanning.
The following table describes the information displayed for each fault code:
NOTE:
i Freeze Frame data may not be available for certain faults when they
occur. The data available is dependent on the module and the specific
fault.
If there are multiple pages of data, you can use the Next Page and
Previous Page buttons to navigate through the data. You can also use the
Print button to print the data or to save the information to a file for printing at
a later time.
2 After you have examined the information, click the Back button to return to the
FAULTS tab.
The header of the INACTIVE faults list displays the number of faults in the list (for
example, INACTIVE - 2).
Use the Up and Down buttons to navigate the list to view all the fault codes found.
NOTE:
i Parameter information (the third item in each fault code in the active code
list) is not displayed for inactive faults.
The following table describes the data provided for each fault code:
NOTE:
i Freeze Frame data may not be available for certain faults when they
occur. The data available is dependent on the module and the specific
fault.
If there are multiple pages of data, you can use the Next Page and
Previous Page buttons to navigate through the data. You can also use the
Print button to print the data or to save the information to a file for printing at
a later time.
2 Once you have examined the information, click the Back button to return to
the FAULTS tab.
NOTE:
i When you Clear All Faults, both active and inactive faults are cleared.
Then the iQ rescans the vehicle and re-lists the active faults found during
scanning.
The PARAMETERS
Tab
T his chapter introduces you to the functions available through the PARAMETERS tab
of the Trailer ABS Suite for the Pro-Link iQ™.
NOTE:
i For the purposes of illustration, this guide employs screen captures from the Haldex
ABS application. These may differ somewhat from the screens displayed if you are
running the Eaton ABS or Wabash ABS applications that are also part of the Trailer
ABS Suite.
The Pro-Link iQ™ creates a PARAMETERS tab for each module (e.g., Brakes,
Trlr 1 HaldexABS) detected on a vehicle. On each PARAMETERS tab, the Pro-
Link iQ™ displays the name of the module to help you distinguish one module
from another.
NOTE:
i The View Quick List button is always at the top of the category list. This
button and its use in creating and managing Quick Lists will be explained
later in this chapter.
The Pro-Link iQ™ displays a message telling you to pick one of the catego-
ries listed on the left side of the screen (Figure 3.1).
2 Click the name of the category you want to view (e.g., Data List).
If the parameters cannot all be listed on the same screen, use the Previous
Page and Next Page buttons to move up and down in the Data List.
NOTE:
i The Graph Page and Record Mode buttons displayed on the PARAME-
TERS tab are described in the Pro-Link iQ™ Hardware and Software
User’s Manual.
If your Quick List is currently empty (as it would be during your first use of the
Trailer ABS Suite), the Pro-Link iQ™ prompts you to create a Quick List.
Click the View Quick List button, which is the top button in the list of parameter
categories at the left side of the screen.
2 Select a parameter to be included by clicking in the box to the left of the param-
eter name (e.g., ABS Light).
A red checkmark appears to the left of the parameter to indicate that the
parameter has been added to the Quick List.
NOTE:
i The View Quick List button at the top left of the screen displays the
number of parameters currently in the Quick List.
3 Continue to add parameters (up to a total of eight) that you want to add to
the Quick List.
4 Click View Quick List in the upper left corner of the screen to view the
result of your selections.
The Quick List is displayed again with the parameter you removed not
longer on the list.
4 (optional) To remove all parameters from the Quick List, click the Clear
Quick List button.
NOTE:
i For the purposes of illustration, this guide employs screen captures from the Haldex
ABS application. These may differ somewhat from the screens displayed if you are
running the Eaton ABS or Wabash ABS applications that are also part of the Trailer
ABS Suite.
NOTE:
i In a multi-page list, you could use the Previous Page and Next Page but-
tons to navigate up and down the list.
