Scene and Description Cast Pgs Loc
Two primary school friends turn up to secondary school on the first day back after a long Liam
weekend. Our first shot will include the two characters walking into school together with a Coote
camera shot including a panoramic shot going upwards from the floor to the characters as well Leo Stone
as a tracking shot. We will also include a tracking shot of the two characters feet in this first Ben
scene which will show them walking together. The scene will then cut to the original shot and Cheesem
Ravens wood
continue following them into school. The tracking shot will continue until the two characters an 1
school
(Ben & Liam) get to the school entrance where they will be seen to split up which will be ironic Asa Bray
because the title of the film is called Split. We will then show the title of the film by adding an
edit to our video. In the background of this shot, we will show Liam to go straight to his ‘friends’
and then show Ben to be lonely and looking back in an upset manner. This will be shown on
either side of the title.
The second scene will consist of the two characters in the same class and will show the Liam
change in the friendship. Ben will already be in the classroom and will be sitting on his own at Coote
the front of the class. Liam will then walk into the class room and Ben will try to catch his Leo Stone
attention by putting his hand out for a high five which is when Liam will completely ignore him Ben
and go to the back corner of the class room and sit with his new group of friends (the bad Cheesem
influencers). To ensure that this scene has the initial effect of showing the distance being an Ravens

created in the friendship we will include a flashback within it. This clip will consist of Liam Asa Bray woood School
coming into the classroom as a much younger child and Ben once again putting his hand out
for a high five only this time Liam will acknowledge it and sit down with Ben at the front of the
classroom. This will be a shot set back in time by 5 years and will show how the friendship has
changed. This flashback clip will be shown from a point of view shot from Ben looking at his
hand and Liam as well to enhance the difference.

This scene will show the two characters friendship becoming more distant; it will mainly show

the change in Liam and will possibly create a sense of mystery in the video, as the audience

will be unaware of the reason towards the change in Liam and why his behavior becomes Oakley Road

negative. We will use an over the shoulder shot on Ben to show him messaging Liam and bus stop

asking him if he wants to go out for lunch. “Wanna go out at lunch and grab some food?” Liam

will then reply with “Yeah sure, meet at the gates”.

The next clip in this scene will show the two characters at the school gate following up with
them going to the bus stop. There will not be much conversation happening between the two
characters and will create an odd atmosphere. The climax of this scene will then come in and

show Liam’s new friends on the opposite side of the road at another bus stop when they will
then call Liam over the road. This is when Liam will run across the road and begin to hang out
with his new friends, leaving Ben all alone at the bus stop while they walk off to get lunch.
It will be the end of the school day and will show Ben leaving on his own after a day of being Liam
ignored and mistreated by his so called ‘best friend’. This scene will express Ben’s feelings for Coote
him and will show him to be upset and angry because of how Liam has treated him that day. Ben
This will be shot with a tracking shot showing the character walking towards the camera out of Cheesem

school. This technique will be used because we will show Liam running after Ben from school an
trying to get his attention. This will lead to him asking what’s wrong with Ben which he will then
reply with ‘Nothing! I’m fine’. Liam will then ask if he wants to play football later that afternoon.
This will bring Ben’s hopes back up and lead him to get excited for the afternoon.

When the characters are leaving each other to come home from school, Liam will walk an

opposite way to his usual journey, which will make Ben suspicious. A few moments later when

Ben is walking up the road on his own Liam and his mates will drive past and aggressively

shout out of the window to get Ben’s attention and which will then be followed with a close up

shot of Ben’s face to show the emotion that he is feeling. This scene will also consist of a
an
tracking shot of the car when Liam drives past him.
Asa Bray
This following scene will include a cross-cutting technique as we will switch from each Liam
characters location multiple times to continue to show the differences between the two and the Coote
distance created in their friendship. Ben will be seen to be sitting at home on his own looking Leo Stone
at pictures of him and Liam which will be recorded with the cinematography technique of an Ben
over the shoulder shot and will also include him messaging Liam asking if he is still coming to Cheesem
play football that afternoon which Liam will simply reply with ‘Yeh’. Switching to the other shot, an 7
we will see Liam hanging out with his friends sitting in their car while taking illegal substances. Asa Bray
This will show the differences in location and surroundings between the two characters. This
will show the vulnerability of Ben and how he may feel within the video. We will also include a
short montage in this scene to show everything that happens within the car while Liam is in it
with his new friends, this will include panoramic shots of the characters in the car.
The next part of the video will then cut to a scene later on in the afternoon of Ben playing Liam
football in a park, where he will be waiting for Liam to turn up and join in. The end result will Coote
show Ben walking home on his own after Liam not turning up and also having not heard from Leo Stone
Liam. This scene will also increase the showing of the genre of the film because of the clip Ben
showing Ben walking home in the dark through a park on his own. As he gets towards the end Cheesem
of the park, he will see a group of young boys in a corner of the park when he will then notice an
Liam with them. As they leave the park, he follows them as well. They seem to be pulling Liam Asa Bray

out of the park quite aggressively. When Ben gets out of the park he sees the group of boys
on the opposite side of the road abusing Liam on the floor, punching and kicking him. This will
lead to the near ending of the short film and will include Ben being noticed by Leo and Asa
who will then chase after Ben, scaring him away. Ben will be waiting at Liam’s house for him to
come home with his mum. Liam will eventually make it home and the door will be opened by
Ben which is when the audience will see the relationship between the two characters heal and
they will hug and apologies to each other.

Liam chases after Ben at the end of the school day to try and get his attention. This will lead to Liam Coote 5
them having a small discussion while Ben is feeling miserable after how Liam has treated him Ben
throughout the day. Liam will ask Ben if he wants to meet up and play football in their local park Cheeseman
later that afternoon. Ben will begin to feel happy after this comment as he will have hope in the
friendship which could possibly lead them to becoming good friends again.
The two characters leave each other at the end of school and go different ways home (Liam Liam Coote 6
different to his usual way). Liam will then drive past Ben in his new friends car and they will shout Ben
out the window in an aggressive way, which will upset Ben. This will be followed with a close up Cheeseman
shot of Ben to show his emotions and also a tracking shot of the car. Leo Stone

There will be a crosscutting technique used which will show the different locations that the Liam Coote 7
characters are in and the distance in the friendship, it will switch from one characters location to Ben
