a) Project Name :
“Design of Cost-Effective Assay kit for Folic Acid”

b) Project Description :
As the diagnostic test of folic acid is expensive. It is most commonly performed
diagnostic test. So, designing and development of simple, cost effective assay protocol has
been proposed in current research work. After observing structure of folic acid, it can be
concluded that conversion of amino group to nitro group will definitely give coloured product
of folic acid. Hence, from literature, all protocols used for such an amino to nitro conversion
were tried on folic acid and product obtained were analyzed on double beam UV-Visible
spectrophotometer.
