To Whom It May Concern,

It is with great enthusiasm that I submit my resume in consideration for the teaching position in
your school district. I will be graduating from Rowan University in May 2020 with a Bachelor’s
Degree in Elementary Education, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Literacy Studies. I will also
graduate with the Teachers of Students with Disabilities Endorsement and the Teacher of
Reading Endorsement. The experience gained while earning these endorsements has allowed me
to develop effective lesson plans, lead class discussions, and work with children one on one.

I believe my strong academic achievements to date, as well as my successful experiences

working with children at several different grade levels, are key attributes that support why I am a
strong candidate for this job. I have earned a 3.9 GPA and have made the Dean’s List every
semester. I’m also highly involved and dedicated to the education field, as demonstrated by my
membership in the Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society for Education and my position as
Vice President of the Elementary Education Club.

I am currently fulfilling my year-long clinical experience in a fourth-grade inclusion classroom. I

have gained co-teaching experience through observations and participation alongside the general
education teacher, special education teacher, and inclusion aides. I was able to adapt to the
culture of student learning and also learn how important differentiation is for each student in the
classroom. This has provided me with the first-hand experience of observing and applying
modifications and accommodations for individualized educational plans.

Through my clinical internships, I have gained experience in various classrooms with diverse
student backgrounds and needs. I understand the challenges of taking charge of a new and
unfamiliar classroom. I am excellent at grasping new course material, finding creative and
engaging ways to share the joys of learning, developing relationships with colleagues, learning
the respect of students, maintaining order in the classroom, and navigating the obstacles that can
arise from a shift in students’ normal routines.

I believe my teaching experiences and passion for success for all students make me an ideal
candidate for this job. I will always strive to be a compassionate, enthusiastic, and intelligent
teacher who makes a positive impact on your school district and students.

Thank you for taking time out of your day to consider my application for this position. I am truly
excited about this opportunity and hope to hear back from you soon.

Respectfully yours,

Alyssa Jacob
